Necro Warhorn #5 not working
[Trillmatic][SPCA][xmas]
Mine is working in PvE. This may seem like a really basic question, but are you sure you have the skill fully unlocked? (I don’t mean to sound insulting with that, seriously.)

Because we can’t be angry about both?

Yeah, it’s definitely unlocked. I was using it a few months ago before I tried it again. I’m pretty sure this is a rare issue since my friends necros can use it fine.

I’m not sure if this issue may be related to a damaged game file or not, but you may consider giving this a try to at least try to rule it out.
Check the game for errors and repair it
- Close your game completely.
- Next, make a copy of your Gw2 game shortcut and rename it “GW2 Repair” or to something that you will recognize it for being only for running a repair on your GW2 installation.
- Now, right-click this “Gw2 Repair” shortcut and click on “Properties”.
- On the “Shortcut” tab look in the “Target:” field, you should see:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2” or wherever you have Guild Wars 2 installed. - After the closing quotation marks in this line put a space and then add -repair
It will look like this but with your GW2 install location:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2” -repair - Hit OK after making this change.
- Run this repair shortcut. Your game will run through a repair cycle and fix any damaged files it finds.
- After it runs through, start the game using the normal GW2 game shortcut (not the repair shortcut) and see if you Warhorn #5 can activate normally in PvE.

I tried repairing GW2 the other night but it didn’t fix the issue.

Hmm…I can’t think of something logical, so maybe it’s time to start experimenting and get creative. >:D
- Try to toggle to your Town Clothes and back and then test it to see if it is functional again.
- In a PvE zone of your actual character level (not down-leveled I mean), try killing 2-5 aggressive (red) enemies. Then try 2-5 neutral (yellow) enemies and see if it triggers it to be functional again.
- Try making a new necro and unlock warhorn #5 on it and see if it is functional for that character. Then check your current necro to see if it has become functional again.
- Toggle your UI off and then on.
- Rearrange all of the UI elements that you can move.
- Make sure your Adobe Flash is up to date as I’ve read in multiple places that the UI seems to rely on Flash.
- Try going to Windowed Mode and testing it. Then back to Fullscreen and testing it (or if you run windowed, go fullscreen, test, then back to windowed and test).
- Check if you can CTRL+Right-click the skill to see if it can get auto-attack enabled on it. Maybe this act will refresh the area of the skill bar and cause it to work again.
If you want to continue hearing any ideas I come up with to see if this can be resolved, let me know. I love trying to find illogical solutions to obscure bugs. I would also love to know if any of these actually work if you choose to try them out!

Thanks a lot, this fixed the issue. I just went to Cursed Shore, killed 1 Risen Putrifier with my Warhorn equipped and it “unlocked” the #5 skill again.

Awesome! Thanks for posting that something fixed it.
With that one I was thinking that there may be an issue of skills unlocking being tied to the amount of XP gained from kills and not to a specific number of kills to unlock it. So maybe there just wasn’t enough XP earned from the down-leveled kills to re-unlock it since it was suddenly no longer unlocked for you. I know I used a mace for the first time on an 80 warrior in an 80 zone and all my skills unlocked from that one kill, so this was what I based that idea on. Still not sure what could have caused so many #5 skills for people to suddenly no longer be unlocked.
Well, happy gaming!
