I want to say this is a bug, but I seem to be the only person in existence that is affected by it.

When I’m fighting world bosses, and even some champs in EoTM, Life Blast is doing nothing. It’s not missing, hitting, anything, not even showing up in combat log. Numbers don’t show up, a “miss” doesn’t show up, sometimes evade shows up, but basically, not a thing. Sometimes it will work fine, other times it does nothing. I’m not sure if its latency issues(my net is 50d/5u), or server issues, I just don’t know. I’ve asked around in game if anyone has ever had the same issue and everyone thinks I’m crazy. I’ll attach a couple screenshots, but I’ll try to capture video of it tomorrow, if it will even happen.

It’s been reported as a bug before, it affects quite a few of us. But I have not seen any acknowledgement from ArenaNet that they are looking into it.

Yea I get this at maw boss etc all the time ur not alone, I am 100% certain it’s not just the obstruction bug projectiles often get either, it’s only at world bosses, can’t confirm eotm I hate that place too many farmers but I wouldn’t be surprised ><. I find that if you reposition the camera behind ur character it usually prevents it.

You have no idea how happy I am to not be crazy. It only just started happening last night in EoTM for me, though I do find it odd that camera placement would fix it. Perhaps it’s client based? /shrug. A fix would be nice though, ArenaNet.

Yup, this is a common thing. I especially notice it with certain champ tower lords in wvw, Taidha Covington, and the shaman at Frozen Maw.

I’ve been seeing this a lot recently as I’ve been doing the World Boss Train™ to farm ectos. The shaman seems to be the worst, and I also sometimes see “Out of Range” messages despite standing right next to him. Perhaps that is down to the Life Blast piercing trait though and mobs standing behind him?

Never seen it in WvW though, although tbf with ~15 of us they go down so quickly I only ever get an axe #2 channel off.

I noticed this bug last year when I took my necromancer to world bosses and I still notice this bug today. Life Blast just does not work sometimes, specifically during some world bosses like Maw.

Please fix this bug already: it is long overdue.

It’s not just LB for me, I have this problem with all my skills, with all weapons. I click a skill and quite simply nothing happens. The skill icon flashes once, but the skill doesn’t activate, or go on cooldown. The worst time for this is at Karka Queen and Jormag, but it often happens at boss fights generally; very rarely happens when roaming in PvE though. In fact last night when doing KQ I barely managed to get any shots to work at all, it was so bad, I was clicking like mad on my well of corruption and it just wouldn’t do anything, and none of my targeted skills would activate either. I then had the same problem later on in Silverwastes too, although again that was very busy, for obvious reasons lol

This problem just started suddenly after the April 14th update. I don’t know if it is the same thing you guys are experiencing, but it sounds pretty much the same thing.

No, that’s not the same thing we’re talking about here. This was about lifeblast casting but not hitting certain targets, even if you’re standing right next to the target.

Oh dear. I had a suspicion it might be something different. Haven’t seen anyone else post about this particular problem, so it looks like it’s just me Maybe a latency issue.
