Minion AI is seriously broken right now. Sometimes they are completely passive throughout the whole fight. This occurs only with the minions with melee attacks, as far as I can tell. It has been this way at least since the start of the eotm patch.

Another issue I’m having is with their damage. They don’t seem to scale with the power stat at all. I’m assuming this is a bug because the tooltip description does indicate scaling with power.

The Shadow Fiend and Bone Fiend active abilities have significant delays attached to them. Often you have to wait 3-5 seconds between using the ability and getting a result. Lag is not a possible explanation.

I’m sorry if this has been posted before, but the search function doesn’t seem to work, so there’s no way to tell.

Yeah I posted a topic a day or so ago that got buried without any sort of response. But the search is indeed not working.
Either way, i’d be nice to atleast get a confirm that they know about it and are attempting to look into it.

The minions from Lich Form #4 don’t do anything too.

I noticed this in WvW today. A necromancer in Lich Form managed to position the ability so some of the minions spawned on a wall, and they just stood there and took hits to the face until they all died.

So looks like wee need w8 until next “balance” path to fix…
I wish my minions was mesmer pets- meaby then we get hotfix

The AI is very broken right now. I noticed this a few days ago, so it seems like it’s been around since at least Escape from Lion’s Arch

My Flesh Golem and Jagged Horrors would stand around doing nothing most of the time, only bothering to attack maybe half of my targets – usually only because they were hit by an AoE.

I haven’t played my Necro much as of late, I think she went into LA once this weekend, and when I have, I haven’t used her minions because I’d read of the minion bug.

I’ll have to bring her out and see what’s going on with this. I’ll get her out to Karka Land (yeah yeah, I am so bad with normal map names!) and see what her minion leaves her to do. If it’s to die.. I’m gonna be very sad.

No news since October 28th 2014. Question asked straight up! 473 times. 647 days and thread locked..

I don’t really know much about the Lich Form minion bug tbh. The problem you’re having with your melee minions has been going on for a while now though. At least, in PvP it has been and it’s been speculated to be a pathing/targeting issue having something tho do with the minions attack AI and the minions targeting the players current target. It has been a hit-or-miss mess since the Dec. 10th patch or so. (Note: This is also when the player rooting/‘stuck’/’can’t move’/’can’t wp’/’can’t use skills’/etc bug started and I believe it could somehow be connected as this is when the Mesmer Illusion AI bugs started as well. There are multiple threads about these subjects in the bug forum.)

As for the skill lag when activating the minion specials, this has to do with the AI skill queue and is not a bug. Sometimes if you press the skill several times it will cancer the skill entirely and it will go into cool down w/o ever triggering. Rangers have this exact same problem with their pet’s special F2 abilities. What is going on is the AI has a certain attack rate and it checks in between attacks for the next queued skill basically. You’re activating the skill as it is starting a queued attack (basic auto attack for minions) and so the game puts the special attack as the next in the queue then, a second or two later, the skill actually triggers. The ‘shudder’ in the response seems like skill lag and this has caused (I’m sure it still does) many Rangers to actually cancel their F2 skill thinking it’s skill lag when it’s actually just part of the AI design.

I know this isn’t all the answers you need/want, but I hope it helps a bit, at least.

Minions are still standing around doing nothing half the time

It seems like it’s affecting individual minions randomly – I’ll sometimes get a jagged horror to attack, while my flesh golem stands idle several feet away, for example.

They still idle even after using their activated skill – like the flesh golem charge. Charge, do nothing.

My main character is a necro. Been lvl 80 since Dec last year. I noticed this starting this week. I play at least every other day. It happens whether I have 1 minion or 4. I agro an enemy by double or triple clicking on them and hitting the 1-5 attack keys. The minion will surround me as if I am not in agro. =(

The minion AI has been a problem since beta at least. As a necro fan and having played MM in gw1 as well, the AI for them in gw2 is just sad.
Golem just stands there twitching like it’s got ticks, refuses to do anything most of the time – Anet says it’s due to how they can’t find a path to the npc or something which to me says the level designer, not the AI people need to look at the terrain or perhaps the minion people need to put the minion ON TOP of the terrain and not a micrometer under it.

If warriors had minions you know it would have been fixed by now. Just replace the minion AI with mesmer clone AI, at least those can do their job properly most of the time.

The issue of not being able to find a path is more related to static objects. You’ll notice this with a lot of other ‘minion’ type skills, particularly mesmer for example, or ranger pets. Some targets simply can’t be pathed to – almost all of them static objects.

It’s not related at all to this bug – minions will simply idle even with a direct path to the target, sometimes even while attacked (at range), and even while you are attacking, and being attacked.
