This is a pretty bad problem. No wonder I die almost instantly when downed. Kind of defeats the purpose of a downed state, doesn’t it?

And sometimes a moderator is all we’re good enough to get… at least they’re active on these forums, unlike the Mac client forums lol.
Guys we are feeling like we are less valuable customers. It’s hard to not feel this way when other classes’ serious bugs get addressed far more quickly. Something from the developers would really be appreciated.

Guaranteed that anet already knows about this, and this never gets an official acknowledgement. It will simply get snuck into a large batch of game updates, so people will not notice.

Latest news: Seems Jon Peters tested it and felt there was no bug…… Even after proof on our side that there is indeed a problem with our downed health.
We really need to bring this to light and have answers to our questions. If there’s no bug, can Anet please show us the number? I’m really sorry but I do die a lot faster, and cannot withstand a simple 2v2 or even 1v1 on my necro if I go down, and 2v2 are a joke to survive on all my other professions. It does need fixing.

Just tested this again in PvE and WvW. When I multiply the number shown as a degen tick by 40, my thief tends to have triple his base health when downed. My necromancer, by the same calculation, has an equivalent amount of health between downed state and regular.
Comparatively 1/3rd health of other classes.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.

Is there a link to somewhere where Jon Peters tested this? Every single player in the game that has tested it has said there are problems, and I’m wondering how he isn’t seeing it.
Oh, is that why it always gets annihilated in downed state? I’d honestly started to wish it would just skip straight to death and spare me the few seconds of futility.

Anet, I love you guys, and I love my Necromancer.
I have been able to stand up to everything I’ve come across thus far with several different combinations of skills, including the much maligned minions.
But it IS irritating that if I make a goof, and go down, I am toast in seconds regardless of my best efforts.
You can test this. Go to Queensdale. Aggro three level 5 bandits. Let them down you. Attempt to survive. I absolutely guarantee you get killed. Regardless of your level, gear, or any other factor, you’re dead once you’re downed. The downed skill 1 / life leech attack will take 80% of a level 5 bandit’s health in one channel. You will still die.
My guardian isn’t even level 50, and has better survivability in downed state than my level 80 necro.

My level 15 mesmer can stand up to abuse in downed better than my level 80 necro.

Dude, I know you guys are rocking the updates, and have a ton of work on your plate, but whatever calculation results in this problem cannot be that hard to find and fix.
I know this is low priority, or someone would have replied by now, but please fix this.
I’m primarily a solo explorer, and being able to survive from downed is a major issue for me; most of the time there IS no-one around to give me a hand. I don’t always dig going way back to the waypoint… from 10 meters from the activation zone for the next waypoint.
