Neverendless initializing
bump, anyone facing same issue?
I had this issue. Did you unistall the game and you want to install it again?
do you use sweetFX or gemFX?
the initializing may just be an UI bug. It just covers the launcher. The launcher may still working in the background. check your internet to see if there is currently a download.
Hover your mouse over where the log in and start buttons are, see if you mouse cursor change, and try to click it
try this to skip the launcher UI
If you skip the launcher with command line switches you can get the game to launch even with sweetfx d3d9.dll in the bin folder and retain sweetfx functionality
-autologin -nopatchui -email YOUREMAILHERE -password YOURPASSWORDHERE
A guy in other post, posted this
It turns out the if you click on the initializing screen where the login button SHOULD be, you’ll log in.
I have autostart enabled but I bet if you click the areas where login and launch game are you should be able to get the game to launch.
It’s like the buttons are there but they didn’t load in.

Jesus now then when i finally get in thanks to NTDK.4897. I can’t talk to any of my guildies beacuse I’m apparently not in a guild >.<. When will Anet do something right for once?
I’m having the same problem.
I have the same problem since yesterday. Do not see any buttons nor can I press any “invisible” ones. So I am stuck at that stage.
You could just delete the bin folder in your Guild Wars 2 directory, which will also disable your sweetfx or GemFX, but it should let you get past the login screen.
And setting yourself to invisible and back to online in the contacts screen temporarily fixes the guild chat problem.

lol that is another ongoing bug
you have to set your status (in friend list panel) to invisible, then set it back to online to fix the guild bug.
You need to do that every time it happens. But better just do it everytime you log out or switch character.
There’s a rare chance you may crash when setting to invisible (another new bug). But so far I havent gotten it.

check to see if your internet is having a download. The launcher may still downloading, so there is not a Play button yet.
Or temporary remove sweetfx or gemfx so you can see the update progress. Then set it to autoplay and put them back.
