So after researching for a bit and seeing varies claims having a respawn time of 40min to 3 hours + I figured, eh not to bad. As I’m writing this I been waiting for 7 hours now, I’m starting to get a bit bored, I pretty much spend a full work day standing about waiting and while I don’t really mind it’s getting a bit silly now.
So yeah either this event on the map I’m on is bugged or saving these eggs is a world event meant only for the few.
And before people ask about fail mechanic or pre event’s nothing is listed nor have anyone said anything.
Edit: So I logged on after giving up and said kitten it and went to bed, logged back in and the event had just started…. guess I don’t even know what to say, at least I “know” it spawns now but really nothing should have such a weird spawn pattern
For a friend it took 20 mins, we missed it so had to wait. Took another hour and a half.
Seems random though, almost like it gives you either a broodmother or the grawl, and the broodmother seems to be winning
I think it’s extremely random. I waited for about 2h in one session, 3h in another session, then the next day I logged in the map, went back to sleep and when i woke up saw the event was ongoing and rushed to the rescue (don’t remember how long it passed). At least it’s not totally broken like the bunny one..
Haha I got ridiculously lucky then. Turned up and it was halfway through.

some maps are bugged and this event will never spawn there. If you see nothing after waiting 2 or 3 hours, you definitly need to find another map.
I waited 4 hours on Monday: nothing. 10 hours, yesterday : nothing until the game made me volunteer to get in another map and the event was there but only 5 seconds left and my friend couldn’t join. A few minutes later GW2 had problems and went down. When it was back up we logged in (thinking the server must have been reset and we had more chance to find a non bugged map) and after approximately 10 minutes the event spawned.
I am currently stuck on this part. I’ve been in 4 different maps, checked via /ip, and waited for at least 2 hours on each. Is this every gonna be fixed/changed? From what I’ve seen on forums/reddit is that its a toss up whether you get broodmother or stop the grawl. Its ridiculous that instead of playing the game, we have to wait around for hours to get one event to spawn. I haven’t seen any dev’s talking about if its gonna be fixed or not…

Hi.
So I am doing the nevermore collection IV… I am at the part where I need to get the “Friend of the Drakes” thing for the collection. To get this I need to participate in an event to “stop the Grawl from stealing drake eggs”.. the problem is I waited for hours and that even just does not start.
I checked the wiki and apparently this even can only happen when the couple Adis and Ulfred are done too… the problem is both NPCs are just standing there without any events… the Alfred NPC is just standing in the cave asking for elemental ice… but it is not an event… he is literally just standing there…. and the elementals do not drop the ice either… so i figured this whole chain is bugged… and without this chain it is impossible to advance in the nevermore collection.
Please look into this.
p.s while i am at this: please consider completely removing open world events from giving parts for legendary collections… I spend more time waiting for some events to start than I do actually do collecting the parts i need… which is very annoying and time wasting. Also some events tend to bug out which makes it even worse…….

I read on the wiki that this event spawns after you help Ulfred. But EVERY time I log into that map I see Ulfred standing in the grawl cave bugged out (at the point where players are supposed to collect the “magic ice” for him by killing the ice elementals).
Please fix this bug! Those of us trying to get Nevermore are going crazy.
