While attempting to create a character, and getting to the step where I need to give it a name… I’m having trouble getting a name that I like that isn’t already taken…

No big deal… I’ll find one eventually…. but I’ve encountered a problem.

Apparently the game thinks I have created too many characters just for failing at giving my character a unique name.

(Trying to proceed with a name that is already taken incorrectly increases some hidden counter that keeps track of how many characters you have created recently)

This is very frustrating, and I’m sure you understand why.

I was having this same issue. I found that if you go back then come back to where you name it it seems to refresh and you can start your name trying again with no problems.

This is happening to me.. very frustrating.

I often had this problem during BETA when doing screenshots for the WIKI. There is a Cool Down period when submitting numerous (or the same with a different name) character/s within a certain time period. just take a breath and have a sip of water and don’t spam the create key too often, pace yourself and you won’t get the error. You don’t have to restart creation, just let the submit Queue cool down before hitting submit again.

No fix for this yet.. lame

Yeah, this is pretty much terrible. Seriously… what terrible code can’t check for a name without overspamming the server.

This doesn’t bode well for creating my first character. I think I might want my $50 back.

simple step to get around it, and it was implemented probably to prevent the server from having to deal with too many requests too fast by too many people all at the same time. As said, just relax.

This is such a stupid statement, especially over minor things.
