I just started noticing this in the last couple days, I’m not sure if it was brought on with the last patch or if it was something they messed with server-side…but I’m having serious problems with targeting (much worse than the issues there were previously).
I used the in-game bug report tool, but there was no catagory in the drop-down list for combat, targeting, or anything of the sort, so I’m really not sure if that bug report will make it where it needs to go.
What seems to be happening is when I have a mob in my sights (“soft-targeted” with the hit point bar showing over his head) and I hit a skill, instead of promoting that mob to full target, it full-targets some other mob which is quite often far away or even out of sight. If I’m using some kind of gap-closer skill, I’ll end up leaping off into the distance. If I’m using a melee skill, I just end up standing there like an idiot and not auto-attacking because it didn’t target the mob standing right in front of me, but full-targeted some other mob out of my field of view.
This even seems to happen sometimes when I actually hit the soft-targeted mob. I’ll have nothing full-targeted. I’ll wack a mob with my hammer, and it will full-target some far-away mob. Very strange. Like I said, I just started noticing this…but it’s very annoying and has caused me to die several times. I’m now constantly hitting tab trying to get full target on a mob standing right in front of me.
I have autotarget and “promote ability targets to full targets” checked in the options.
