New content is nice, but...
+1 million on this. It’s really silly that you can’t join in with your fractal group if your game crashes, and yes, the GW2 client crashes.
Also, what happend to the optimization of the game? It’s still barely playable when there’s a group larger than 5 players around (Isn’t this the point of MMOs?) on a i5 @ 4.3GHz & 670GTX on the higher settings, seriously it doesn’t look that good.
What’s frustrating is that Arenanet is quick to implement character overhaul items like the make-over kit but really slow with some of the bugs that have been in the game since day 1.
It’s called allocation of resources. You can’t just have everyone work on bug-fixing.
I’m sure they have a bug-fixing team that’s working hard, but it’s not easy to look through other peoples code and figure out what the problem is, especially if they don’t do friendly code. The code seems sound because the game runs, but it doesn’t work 100% and you have to look through pretty much all the code to find the bugs. Additionally, the bug may not be in the place you’re looking, it could be in the way it interacts with other code, so the problem doesn’t even have to be inherent to the source.
Not to mention that changing something that is connected to something else in order to fix a bug, might bug other things if they are not careful. Heck, just changing a number can break other things depending on how its coded.
As for the make-over kit, it would be stupid to think that it was the bugfixing team making the make-over kits, not to mention people have been wanting the make-over kit since day 1 basically. Its also a separate team that creates new content to that which work on fixing bugs.
That being said, they really need to fix some of the bugs like the loot bug, fractal dc’s and more as soon as possible. Definitely before they roll out wintersday!
