Guild Wars 2

Saw this, this morning when I tried to launch GW2 .. first time I’d seen it, so posting here. There were no other applications of GW2 running. Rebooting the computer seemed to fix it, but thought I’d flag here because I’d never seen it before.

Got it a couple of times in the last few days to, its anoyying

if you get it again, instead of rebooting your computer try go to your task manager, and look in processes and see if a gw2.exe ain’t running in the background there, and then close it, not saying its not a bug might be a bug in code preventing it from closing properly, though could be a kittenup of your computer too, but at least this is a wuicker work around than rebooting

I’ve been getting those after the last update. Seems a copy of gw2.exe is still running and starting the task manager and manually closing it down fixes it for me.

Still aggravating to have to do this.

I’ve had this once or twice, and at least a couple other times where I noticed gw2.exe still running in the task manager long after the game had been closed. The still-running .exe eating up 1-2GB of RAM could definitely cause some performance issues, especially if you’re trying to play another resource-heavy game.

There have been no changes to my PC other than OS updates (win 7 x64) and installing a few other games on Steam.
