I am posting this because I am not sure if everyone noticed what happened with the nightmare fractal chests yesterday after the patch.

Basically, any existing or new nightmare chests got upgraded to Cosmic Infusion Chests, with the owner being able to choose one of the new infusions, instead of the nightmare skins.

Those of us who had opened our chests before were not able to get the infusion. As noone could expect an upgrade to those chests, I imagine lots of us took a skin to get rid of the chest who would rather have had an infusion.

While the infusion can be bought in game, seeing as they are timegated and many were able to get them ahead of time using the chest, this should be corrected.

What is the official stance on those chests/infusions?
Either all infusions optained this way should be removed, if it was an oversight, or everyone who did the achievement but did not get an infusion from the chest should receive one, or at least the chest to choose it themselves.

ANet Ben — Up to the challenge is not supposed to provide a cosmic infusion. We have killswitched that item until the drop is fixed.

Player — You do know how many people got the infusion through this right?

ANet Ben — We have statistics on it yes. It is unfortunate that some people ended up getting it for free.

Player — and you wont do anything about that…?

Seeing as there was no further response, I think ANet is going to leave it as some people got luckier than they were supposed to.

I think it’s one of those fundamentally unfair situations without a fair resolution at a reasonable cost.

Seeing as how the allow people to get double or triple the SAB infusions by lying to support that is not very surprising.
