I often spend daily 1 hour farming Air Elementals and Sparks in Malchor’s Leap with an average 6lodestone/hour, sometimes even 3lodestone / 10min.
I do this with MF boosters, thus i have ~330 Magic Find.
But today I got NONE. I got 5 rare items, but no lodestones.
There is some convoluted set of requirements for lodestones to drop.
Air Elementals (78-80) in Malchor’s Leap and Cursed Shore with Cathedral of Eternal Radiance uncontested
Sparks (78-80) in Malchor’s Leap and Cursed Shore with Cathedral of Zephyrs uncontested
If they’re contested you won’t get a single lodestone.
Around Lyssa you’ll find Sparks AND Vet Air elementals. If Dwayna is contested only the vets have a chance to drop lodestones. If Lyssa and Dwayna are both open then all elementals around Lyssa have the chance to drop lodestones. It is possible you were killing Sparks around Lyssa while Dwayna was contested which means you have no chance at getting lodestones.
However, if both were open and you were still not getting drops….RNG is RNG.
This is where i farm them, and i didn’t start that today, so i know whats the average drop rate. What I’m asking is if anyone else noticed that there is NO drop rate at all now?
A guildie and I farmed around there for about an hour last night. He got 4, I got 1 (both temples were uncontested for the majority of the time; Dwayna defend popped up but succeeded quickly). It wouldn’t shock me if there were something bugging magic find, because mine would have been well over 300 with boosters and food whereas his was like 200 or less, but with a sample size that small I’m not exactly going all in on that theory and RNG is RNG.
