No Dark Matter from Exotics?
I got dark matter from an exo I salvaged yesterday. So, yeah, just bad luck.
Dark Matter still salvages from exo’s. However, it is probably needed for something important; therefore, the odds of actually recovering it from a salvage have been reduced to the Black Lion Key drop rate??? #jk #notjk

Just salvaged 5 exotics and received no Dark matter – Bad luck or a bug?
Would appreciate if someone would confirm they are able to salvage from exotics post patch.
Using a mystic/master kit, the wiki states that, “the estimated average is ~0.5 globs per exotic for exotic gear level 68 or better.” If you only had the chance of getting 0 or 1 DM, the odds are roughly a 3% chance of salvaging 5 in a row without any dropping at all; since you can get 0, 1, 2, or 3, it’s somewhat higher
That means for every 100 players salvaging 5 exotics, at least three of them get nothing, i.e. it’s not only “just” bad luck, the luck is not not even dramatically bad.

But yeah, it still drops from salvaged exotics.
