November 15th Patch Notes stated:

“The drop rarity of Rare and Exotic weapons from certain places in the world (champions, veterans, and players in WvW) has been increased. Rares and Exotics should be much more likely to drop and every champion should be guaranteed to drop loot. This was to ensure that world loot drops were not a significantly worse way of acquiring rare and exotic items than crafting and running dungeons.”

So why is it I’ve killed 8 Champions in Cursed Shore in the last 2 hours and only had loot from 1? For half of them I was the one to engage the champion, I didn’t stop shotting it the whole time the group were fighting it, and yet afterwards, even though I get a gold medal for participating in the event and doing enough damage, I get zero loot from them?!?

This poor loot drop is not fixed yet apparently. The other day my group and I went through a region and engaged every vet and champion we could find.

Rewards: not exactly sterling! Some old trophy bones, trophy hooves, trophy ice shards. Mostly nothing worth vendoring at all. Definitely nothing of value.

What’s even worse is that drops from harvesting appear to be ok, but the number of harvesting nodes seemed to consist mainly of lumber and vegetables, very, very few mining nodes.

played in harathi these days, several centaur camp chains etc. solo-ed some champs, killed many vets and guess what: ONE of them gave me something :| – some blue kitten drop by one of the three warbeasts before that centaur endboss.

Most stuff on the 15th Nov patch/release was botched. Look at the bugs in the karka event on that weekend, just for starters.

Same thing is happening now, the patch notes for wintersday clearly state that there would be a mystery wintersday present drop randomly in the world, and I’ve been farming lodes and not seen one of these supposed items drop. You can also get them from the cashshop but they’re not getting any more of my money from this event.

Bottom line is that these are glaringly obvious bugs that need fixing even though they said in the patch notes for each bug that these issues were fixed/dropping respectively.

Outside of the fact that I’ve not seen drops improve on Champions and Veterans, mob drops are dismal throughout the game.

Also, I’ve not seen any “special” drop anywhere I have gotten a present in this Winders Day function. If it is in the world, it is effectively hidden in some out of the way area that no one ever visits.

None of my guild mates have indicated they got one so we are still unconvinced Anet actually put one out there for someone to get.
