I did not get an unbounded magic gatherer with my unbounded magic gathering tools. I think it is because I had unbounded magic in my account wallet already (just a suspicion of why I would not have the gatherer in my bags when I took my tools). I got the unbounded magic in my wallet from chests or rewards in the last round of ranked sPvP. My tools gather, but do not give me unbounded magic. Anyone else have this problem?

I saw the gatherer in the in game mail and it disappeared so that worked as I expected it to, but no unbound magic on gathering. I have only purchased HoT and Path of Fire. Does that give me access to Living World Season 3? Apparently not? I don’t even see Living World Season 3 advertised at the Gem Store. I’ve been playing since October 2016 or thereabouts and the Living World Season 3 Wiki says: “Season 3 of the Living World began on July 26th, 2016. The Heart of Thorns expansion is required to play it.” Should Season 3 have been part of my character automatically since I’ve been playing since October and I bought HoT? Am still a little confused.

You’re correct, if you logged in you should have LS3.
Have you started the HoT story yet? The early part is needed to unlock masteries, maybe you need it to unlock LS3 too.
You also need to manually activate the LS3 episodes in your hero panel. All the LS3 maps need you to complete part of thier respective stories before you can get into each new map.

I just started the first of the LS3 episodes in my hero panel. That didn’t solve the problem but I haven’t completed any of the story yet. I did think that was the whole point of the unbound magic container — that I could get unbound magic without doing the preliminaries needed to get — the unbound magic container!
It is. But, whilst awaiting help from the CS Team, the above suggestions could trigger Unbound Magic gathering, and could possibly be what the CS Team would ask you to try first.

I just bought the “Infinite Unbound Magic Gathering Tools” and I also have the same problem of not receiving unbound magic when I gather. I was considering opening a support ticket but I might just finish LS3 Episode 1 which should theoretically unlock unbound magic gathering.

I figured it out. I opened my email from Black Lion in a character other than the one that was using the tools. I bought a new set for the character I wanted them for and they worked perfectly. I use one toon for WvW and a different one for PvP/WvW roaming so both needed the tools anyway, so no big deal, but on the roaming toon I’ll need to get him a magic gatherer somehow.

Figured out what I did wrong with the unbound magic tools. I opened my email from Black Lion with the tools in it, in a character other than the one that was using the tools. So the gathering tool was put on a character, but not the one I wanted it too! Oops.
