My main character (my ranger) did not receive a birthday gift, however all my other characters did. Oddly, she was the first character I made out of the bunch. I’ve logged out/in, deleted all mail, etc., but have not received it. Screen shot attached with /age and mailbox as proof. I started at headstart. Anyone else have this problem?

Same problem here. 12 month on my most played character and first one created, a ranger; no gifts on him. 4 other characters all received gifts, some of them even 11 months old.

Regarding your birthday gift, if you started a character on the day the game came out then you should expect that character to receive the birthday gift in 2-3 days. The game released on August 28, 2012, so there are just a few more days to go before it will be 1 year from the day the game went live.

But perhaps Anet will begin granting the birthday gifts going by the official game release date and “headstarters” will get their gifts on that date just as with everyone else that started a character on day 1 of launch.

And why would i get Birthday gifts on 4 other characters, most of them will be one year old in the following week actually and my main character, which /age says he’s 12 months still got nothing?

Have been playing since very first beta + headstart.
Guess postman is just a bit lazy in EU.
Some Russian Guys already have the gift.

Regarding your forum name implying female, and your PC name being Billy of SP, I figured that was the case. Love them. Just thought it was cool to see it as your computer user name. Meh, wasn’t that funny or witty I suppose.

Regarding your OP, as Charak mentioned, that WXP booster is not the birthday gift.
Are you stating that you’ve received the ‘actual’ birthday gift on four out of five characters? If this is the case, then I think the screenshot of the WXP Booster in your OP is causing the confusion. That was a completely separate free gift from Anet to encourage players to take part in WvW.

Anyway, mass-mailing of items from Anet sometimes takes some time as they are sent out in waves. And due to so many characters turning 1 year old, just give it some time, I suppose.

A lot of these forum users have a classic case of ‘scotoma’ (from the dictionary.. [psychol] a mental blind spot; inability to understand or perceive certain matters) or if you’ve seen The Da Vinci Code, “the mind sees what it chooses to see”. A good number of people do that here, going right over the blindingly obvious and throwing their own suggestions in without having read through the essential pieces of information.

Regarding the first birthday presents, I have received all mine (I made 8 characters on the day of release to people who got the headstart). Let’s re-read that again guys… the headstart people get their’s today… everyone else who did not get headstart access will be getting their’s on the 28th if they played from release.

I am having the same issue, where my first character did not receive a birthday gift but my other characters made after did.

Ah. Based on reports, it does seem that there is a bug to where many players with multiple characters created at the start of headstart received the birthday gift on the subsequent alts, but not on the first actual originally created (oldest) character on the account.

I’ll keep watching to see if this seems more and more likely the case with the bday gift issues.

I’d like to report a similar occurrence for me as well. Of the 4 characters I created during headstart, all of them received a present except for my main, who was the first character I created.

I’d like to note that as the daily reset happened I was currently logged into my main, yet did not receive a present for her, even after relogging.

She was also a ranger if that is somehow relevant.

My main also did not receive mail for the toons first birthday but my other alts did.
Not that another queen mini would help.

Looked forward to the characters Bday and was disapointed to see the same mini over and over and over out of the boxes.

Anet why didn’t you keep the presents like GW1? It seems everything that was good in GW 1 was lost in GW2.

I too didn’t get anything. Was online when people in GW1 scream OMG GW2 IS ONLINE, WAAAT, and then login servers crashed.

I don’t think anything is broken, but let’s check if you guys should get a B.present or not. Type the command “/age” in the chat. If it says you playing with this character over the past 12 month you should get a B.present, if it says you playing with it over the past 11month then you shouldn’t but you will getone after you reached 1 year

It says 12 months here, got nothing, relogged a few times.

Same here, I feel like I have been forgotten by Santa.

(I did use /age and my character is 12 months old)

I didn’t receive any gift on any chars, even if i’ve started playing since 6:01 AM (CEST) of the 25th.

“/age” says 12 months.

Yeah several of my alts got the birthday present but my first/main character did not and his /age is 12 months. So upsetting for my main and oldest character being jacked out of a birthday present.

Can confirm the same issue for me, my alts got it my main didn’t despite being 12 months old.

My main character did not get the gift.

She is the only character I made during the headstart.

I made one character as soon as head start began and did not receive a gift. It was months before I created any more characters.

Headstart character here with no gift whatsoever.

I also have a day one headstart character without their gift.

I also did not receive a birthday gift for one of my day-one headstart characters. /age gives me 12 months so I know I’m not crazy, at least on this one!

The character I created first did not get one, but the character I created second, did. Very odd.

Same problem here, on my main. Which was also the character I was on when the daily reset. I did use a full makeover kit once, but that shouldn’t matter.

I have encountered the same problem. Using /age, on my main character it says “You have played this character for 804 hours 44 minutes over the past 12 months.” My mailbox is empty. I have not received my birthday gift.

BTW, I created 5 characters during the first day, and none of them have received their gifts.

I’ve also not gotten my gift yet, despite my /age being 12mo, but I think they’re just a bit slow going out. Someone asked the GW2 Twitter about it this morning, and the response was to “give it some time.”

I’m sure they tested it lots, just doubt they had a 3 million accounts to test it on tho.

I created my main as soon as the servers opened as well. /age shows 12 months, too. To top it off, my friend, who was sitting about 6 feet away from me during launch creating his character as well, got his.

I also have not gotten mine. I thought maybe I forgot that I remade her or something but the age does list it at 12 months.

I have 2 chars that are 12 months according to the /age in game. I created both of them on the 1st day of headstart and never remade either of them. Only 1 of them has received the birthday gift so far.

I guess I’ll chime in as well. 12 months on my main today (no alts have existed that long) and nothing.

I assumed it was just mail waves, but its been quite a while since they started coming out.

I guess they could still be backed up. Just wonder what constitutes what wave you are in (I created as soon as game launched headstart, probably the same as a large majority :P). I always seem to be very last on a lot of the items they mail out. Do they go by last name or something? xD

No present here, my main character with 3k hours playtime was created in the first few minutes of the headstart.

Same here, created 8 characters within minutes of the servers going up on the 3day head start. None have the gifts.

I do not have one either. This is my theory. I created my first char by skipping everything (story customization etc) so I could reserve my name. Then I made all my other characters. I went back and deleted my first character and remade it with the original name. So technically I have no first character on my account.
