Guild Wars 2

I am trying to play with a party member, who is on the same server as me (as in not a guest), and I can not see him. I know this is normally fixed by right clicking their portrait and clicking “Join” yet the option is not present. We have both restarted the game several times with no luck. I remember problems like this with the megaserver or whatever when the game first came out, but how is this still a problem 3 years later?

try to use the chat command /join “player name”
