I was pvping in the Isle of Janthir Borderlands. Yesterday, I killed a player, and a chest dropped (with rare/exotic loot in it supposedly), but when I opened the chest, nothing, and I mean nothing came out. No white, no blue, no green, no yellow, and no exotic. I thought, “Ok, it was a fluke. When those chests drop in PVE, I always get a rare/exotic out of it. I’ll get another one eventually, so it’s not a big deal.”
So today I was pvping in the Isle of Janthir Bordlerands again and just a few minutes ago, another chest dropped from a person I killed! I was so excited, I ran up to it and opened it. The little lid on the chest moved up, opened, and closed again and disappeared (all normal animations). However, nothing showed up on the bottom right hand side of my screen when I opened the chest. I checked my inventory, and there was no rare/exotic in there. I got absolutely nothing from both chests. Is this glitched, or do I have some seriously horrible luck?

-Yes I checked every square inch of my bag space for loot, and there was none.
-Yes it was a small wooden chest that usually (in PVE) contains a rare/exotic.

Has anyone else experienced this recently?

Are you sure it was from a player? That sounds like a drop from a dolyak. Maybe the players can drop that kind of chest too. They contain supply rather than the typical loot.

Some wooden chests contain +5 supply.

There was/is a bug though – when you are carrying 15 supply and get a chest containing +5 supply. Your supply gets reduced to 10 supply. So it actually robs you of 5 supply.

Well we were fighting within an enemy supply camp, so it’s possible that the chest could have dropped from one of the NPCs there. I didn’t know the WvW dropped chests could contain supply. That’s the only thing I didn’t check – was how much supply I had. I bet that’s what happened. Thanks guys! I no longer feel incredibly unlucky lol.

Yeah…it was likely a Dolyak Supply Package, which if you have 10 or 15 supply already do absolutely nothing, which i think it should if you have 10.
