Good Evening, last week I have finished the 100% map completion, while I have taken the achievement I have never taken the reward with the exploration gifts…since it’s important for the legendary creation, i would like someone to help me with this issue!!!
I’ll tell you few hints, first of all I had completed the whole map before the latest patch and my last POI (before the achievement) was at Bloodtide Coast and entered chantry of secrets.
I tried after the latest patch which includes 2 more WP but the reward still is bugged.
I have visited all the areas and I have accepted all the chests already, also at the bloodtide Coast I have gone inside throw the portal from fort trinity..
Do you have all POI, all vistas and all WP? You can tell from your map, the number in the top left will tell you if you actually have found every explorable point.
In case the numbers don’t match yet: WvW and some underground, instanced places also count towards world completion. It might show 100% due to rounding errors before you actually have completed the whole map.
There seems to be a few people having issues 100% completion, myself included. The new way points seem to be a major sticking point, however I ensured as Exterminans suggested to look at the numbers at the top left to be completed as I can confirm it will display 100% prior to seeing 100%.
In the earlier posts no one really gave a recommendation other than check your numbers again. Anet has not replied nor have I seen this be referenced to a known error post.
Clouded Judgement’s note about “needing to accepting the rewards” rose a red flag for me however. I cant recall ever not accepting a reward, but I wonder if the new way points has bugged this out.
I had already complete the straits of Devisation and Curse Shore prior to patch and therefore when I recompleted them with the extra way points I did not get an additional award as Anet stated would be the case. But perhaps this lack of flag going out maybe bugged the world complete.
Presently Ill just go to every zone and see if I get a surprise zone completion reward that I may have missed.
Nope Michael. That was just a guy who missed the new Way Points. Not really the issue for me and some others who have confirmed not getting the 100% even specifically with the 2 new way points.
I haven’t received my award as well. I just finished today no I am not missing anything, vistas, pois, etc everything is done. I am wondering if it is because I didn’t complete story mode on this character. Any response would be appreciated.
Also I am curious that since there is two new waypoints if this effects my old character with her star or not. It’s not like you can see it yourself or if you can I don’t know how.
Today I was completing the map for the Straits of Devastation and expected to receive a reward for it but did not. How can I receive my reward? What can I do?

Well I went back to all the areas, no missed rewards. I do have the badge of completion on my character select page and this is the only character of mine with 100% map completion. I have all Poi, heart, WP and Skill Points.
It turned out that the Chantry of Secrets in Blood tide coast has a POI that doesnt show on the total number POIs for the world map completion.
When I walked in I got the 1/1 Poi and the Reward of the Chantry of Secrets chest which yields nothing. I also got my world complete reward.
Seriously ANet should really include that POI in the total POI’s in the Map view if it counts towards the world complete reward.
Well here is my update I decided to see if the story affected the completion at all and it didn’t. Still have EVERYTHING done. Where is my little gold star and my 2 gifts of discovery??? No lies either see all done, I would like my rewards please.
Icelin, have you tried entering the Chantry of Secrets in Bloodtide Coast as Hazteur suggests?
As for the little gold star, note that you won’t see it yourself, so you’ll have to ask someone else if they see a gold star on you.

I just finished 100% map on my third character and got nothing. I went back to the Chantry of Secrets because I read this thread and recalled back around launch a lot of people saying you HAD to go back to the chantry even if you’d been there before.
I went back and it worked. I suppose it’s possible I’d never been there but it even said PoI 1/1 on the loading screen so who knows. Either way, give it a shot if it’s being buggy for you too.
(I now have 6 Gifts of Exploration, now to continue working on getting 20 GoE)
Edit to Clarify: I’ve never had to go back to the Chantry before. Both of my other characters I got the Gifts of Exploration on the last zones I did.
A few days ago, Myself and my team mate (jay.7562) was working on completing the map area for the Straits of Devastation, and when we reached are last way point we were expecting to receive are rewards (like, the chest and mail message for finishing the area) just like all of the other areas that we have complected. So far we did not receive anything. The only thing that was given to us was put on are maps showing that for the area of Straits of Devastation is 100% complected. Is there a way to receive the missing reward? Also, will this stop us from receiving the 100% world map completion?
We have tried to zone out to another area and then return back to Straits of Devastation to see if that would give us are reward, “nothing happened”. We also logged out of Guild Wars 2 and then log back in to Guild Wars 2 to that area, to see if that would give us are reward, and again “nothing happened”. We also sent in a Game Bug report.
Is there anything else that I need to do or try, that would help us with are problem?
It happened to me as well.
This is my 9th character, so I know the map completion.
A few weeks ago I completed Caledon Forest. It shows 100% completion, but I received no letter nor a reward.
Now I just finished Brisbane Wildlands and it too shows 100% completion, but still no letter nor a reward.
For both cases I sent an ingame bug report.
I will add a service request too.
Calededon Forest and Brisbane Wildlands are areas where new POI’s and/or heart events have been added with some recent or not so recent updates. For Caledon Forest, it’s the heart event in the south west swamp area, and for Brisbane Wildlands it’s the new region that leads to Dry Top (or was it Silver Wastes?) and the waypoint for the guild challenge for Proxemic Lab in the north west corner.
You may have completed these areas with your character before and already got the reward, but forgot about that. Completing it again by exploring the new items will not give you the reward for completing the area a second time.
