Q:
No sound from emotes
A:
I’ve found that this issue has come up before.
Close your game completely and then check your surround sound settings for your audio and make sure it didn’t get set to 5.1 or 8 channel/7.1 surround sound during the transition to your new PC. Those modes are not supported by GW2 yet. Set it to 2 channel stereo.

- Are those the only sound effects that you are not hearing?
- Do you experience any loss of certain sounds outside of the game (music, movies, etc)?
- What is your brand of sound card/name of on-board sound device?
- Are you using headphones, and if so, what is their brand and the audio utility being used for them?

=> This are the only sound effects that I can’t hear, all the other sounds are good.
=> I notice no other sound loss outside the game, everything works perfect including all of the sounds. Also I use the same sound device as before (speakers and woofer)
=>I use headphones and boxes to playback the sound, and by both I can’t hear any emote sound. The brand of the headphone is Trust which i also used on my old pc.
=> Brand of sound carts are Nvidia & Realtek (same as in my other pc where I heard the emote sounds perfectly)
Seems like you are right. Switched the surround settings and it works perfectly again! Many thanks!
Happy to help.
