The Norn supplies go to the inventory when you buy them from the Jotun, instead of being equipped. The Jotun do not seem to detect its presence at all, and you cannot sell it to them. Double-clicking on it does nothing, and right-clicking only produces the option to destroy. The item remains in inventory after heart is completed.

I also ran into this issue. Does anyone know if the Norn Supplies item serves some other purpose?

These items are useless at this part of the game. they are needed again in a high level area later on. But for this quest, don’t buy the 2-stone-worth boxes, they won’t help. You can safely destroy them at this point in the game, you won’t need them till much later.

That’s been in there since launch, for some reason. As MrTrainee said, just don’t trade for those boxes. The boxes are turned in during an event in Frostgorge Sound, and the event isn’t anything important. You can just destroy them.
