Not So Secret Bug
At least you can get past the entrance with gliding. Forgot about those other two gears. =_=
It’s still possible to use the gears which take you up to the goggles. It is very difficult to do though. It involves positioning yourself just barely on the gear, so it throws you far enough you pass over the next gear, but land just past it on the platform.
Sometimes i nail it first try, other times I just can’t seem to align it just right and go flying to my death.
I keep a character parked in the area to help those who need it. Since this change, there’s no end to the number of players asking/needing help. Especially since there are legendary collections up there.

I have noticed this bug as well (I can’t imagine that it was intentional).
Thanks for the tip about standing far back on the double gear – I will experiment with that! In the meantime, I have my “spare” chrono parked at the goggles.
I did chest path at autumn. Today I tried googles path.
Cogs are definitely pushes me much father today than half a year ago. I noticed this on cogs near JP entrance too. I experimented there but didn’t find any way too make this jumps shorter.
On the googles path today I made 6 attemts. Always jumping too far, over the platform (not even touching it). No matter which direction I’m aiming. There’s small wall on that platform (presumably for safe landing). But I jumped over it twice.
It’s still broken, i’m afraid. It’s around half a year already, and there’s not even an indication that Anet’s even aware that something may not be right.

Issue: Gendarran Fields: Not So Secret Jumping Puzzle: Launch pads will sometimes launch players too far.
Status: Investigating = we are aware of the issue, but haven’t yet found a fix for it.
There are workarounds for the problem.
1) use weapon swap to stop the movement, if you are thinking “but I am an ele! I don’t have weapon swap” you can use something like the birthday blaster or any number of things that give you a bundle
2) get the experimental rifle from malchor’s leap and just use that to do the jump. if you are an engineer you can just equip a rifle and use the #5 on that, DH F2 and DD’s vault might also work if they have enough range
