The Gear pads don’t send you flying. I don’t know if it’s unique to Charr but my character just sort of hops in place…. Not much else to say, really.

I’m still waiting for all the treads on this to be merged if they haven’t already.

same thing was reported about 2 week ago, a dev responded saying they are working on it, but no eta:

It would be nice if they merged these threads, yeah.

Would be even better fixed the dang bug.
