Guild Wars 2

Approximately half an hour after the monthly achievement was reset for the month of October I completed a quest that earned enough experience that I completed the survivor portion of the monthly. The next day, both survivor and my progress were replaced by “???”.

Oops, just saw another thread on this. Apparently it’s something to do with an end of October event.

Does anyone else’s Monthly survivor achievement seem to be glitched?
p.s: I had it done before it did this.

Seeing that we’re in October, it might be the Mad King up to mischief! Someone from ArenaNet said he would return in Guild Wars 2 in a video snippet where they where interviewed. Let the conspiracy start.

yeah, I suspect it has something to do with an event later this month. I’m kinda glad, since I play rather recklessly

Well I find it a bit annoying, since I actively completed it on day 1 after the monthly reset. If they really replace it with something event-related I have to whatever it requires me to do, which could be anything from trivial to ultra-annoying. -_-

I was also able to complete it on the first day after the reset, which is why I’m not bothered by the reset — it was too easy for a 30-day long achievement (unless you don’t have any toons above level 40).

It would have been nice if they had made the change in September, so that there wasn’t any confusion. And it would have been sensible for them to rename the achievement from “???” to “October Mystery Requirement” or something like that — a surprise is nice, but “???” looks like a bug.

All it takes is 1 dungeon at lvl 80 to complete this.

Same here, I’ve earned that amount of EXP 10 fold and all it shows is ???

So we can’t complete the monthly achievement tab until that holiday. :/

as a suggestion – it might be worth changing it from “?” to a “Watch this space – Content not yet available for this achievement, but will be soon!” or something similar.

Will stop people from thinking its a bug and know that it is intentional.

That is correct, but I’m so happy they are doing this. Having the same monthly acheivement would get pretty old pretty fast. Having content tailored to each month makes it interesting, even if we have to wait a few weeks to finish it. :]

And why in the world, did you guys not add a Seasonal Achievement category instead of making a Monthly Achievement category something you can’t complete outside of a small holiday window? This, to me, was a really bad idea of whoever handles that on your team.

I don’t understand the thought behind this aswell.

It’s fine if you change it, bc always the same thing will be boring, but I already passed the 100K, and now it’s switched… a little bit more insight would be nice ?

What are we waiting for Halloween 31st oct ???. In order to have 1 day to complete the Achievement?, why not make a special Halloween one for November and fix the current one/month?

Another already achieved the xp part before this was changed player, signing in.

My already completed monthly Survivor achievement for October is bugged. Both title and description of progress are displayed as ??? and there is 0 progress on the bar.

It’s normal. It will become a special achievement for October, probably for Halloween. They still need to release info about it, so just wait a bit.

This is DEAD on. I’ve been sitting here for over a week thinking that it was just broken. But no, now we have to complete some unknown achievement in an unknown amount of time to complete our monthly reward.

Utterly ludicrous. At least give us SOME information about what’s going on with this rather than leaving it like a broken string in the game.

Same here, I was able to do the monthly in day 1. For some weird reason my September monthly was completed twice so I though “monthly” can be done twice that’s why I didn’t bother when I saw this ‘bug’…

Are the dev’s aware that the monthly experience achievement is bugged? I used to see the numbers but since the updates on October the first all I can see is ‘???’ instead of “Experience Survivor”. Is this normal? When is it going to be fixed?

This is not a bug but a montly achievement that will be announced in the future.

I think switching the achievements after a number of players completes an achievement tier is bad form.

I do look forward to a holiday-based achievement.

Why not just give holiday events their own achievements like the keg event ???

After completing last part something like xxx.xxx k experience without death now it shows only ??? and can’t completed again

The ??? is for the Halloween event

Because I completed that particular achievement the day of the reset. I know I did because I had tried for several days to do it last month and when I did it within an hour of reset I noticed.

It was changed on 1 October.

What I find annoying is that I intentionally try to complete daily, weekly, monthly etc quests, achievements etc. as early as possible in that period, in case something comes up later holding me off. For example, what if some serious real life reasons (let’s say long hours at work) keep me from playing during the holiday event, yet I was able to complete the regular monthly survivar on one night at the start of the month already – still get the shaft.

This may sound farfetched, but I had the same thing happen to me in another MMO, where I missed most of a major ingame event due to real life reasons, and if I had been able to complete all major stuff in the first few days, I would not have missed anything. Sigh.

Typical that the first part I did this month was to complete the Survivor part.
Next day ??? haha

Im unable to complete the monthly achieve because the monthly experience from killing mob without die is unlock. monthly WvW players kill, monthly events participation, monthly salvage kit usage are all working, but the monthly experience kill without die is still in question marks ?/?.

I’m fairly certain it’s an “End of the Month” holiday event.. We’ll have to wait and see, but I’ve seen this rumour everywhere.

It’s not a rumor, it was confirmed by a dev post.

I don’t know whether this is a bug or not, but I didn’t find anything on the forums. I know there were major complains about the monthly experience without death, so maybe they are reworking it? If not, does anyone else have this?

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but it appears that the monthly survivor title track won’t show any progress instead appearing as “??/??”. Has anyone else had this occur? I noticed it after getting excited to see how close I was to completion after finishing a dungeon, and its been stuck like that for a few days. Any fixes or anything possible? Thanks!

The monthly survivor has been ‘bugged’ since the beginning of the month. My guess is that it’s related to the upcoming Halloween Event that might reward us something nice. It’s only a speculation, but I’m sure it’ll be fixed soon. Don’t worry.

I’m curious if this is the same case for everyone else? It’d be a bit of an odd tie in to an event in my opinion.

Wasn’t better remove instead of xp survivor , that stupid wvw part of the achievement considering most of us don’t have time to waste zerging on wvw?

A few of us are unable to complete our Monthly Achievements because the fourth one is marked as “???”. I believe it was called “Experienced Survivor” and required 100,000 XP without a death. Is this a known problem? I could not find another forum thread about it.
