I assume this is messed up? Isn’t it supposed to be 4?

Just completed 2 monthlies and got the normal PvE reward: Legendary Luck + 20 Mystic Coins + 6000 Karma (Jug) + 10 Laurels.

Because there is a patch changing the way Dailies and Monthlies will be on the 15th, you need only complete 2 complements of the Monthly until the 15th of April, and thereafter, you will need to complete 4, if you haven’t already fulfilled the requirements for the month.

From the Feature Patch Blog:

The PvP and PvE daily and monthly achievements will be merged. There will be enough achievements that you will be able to complete your dailies and monthlies entirely in PvE, WvW, or PvP if you like – but you can also dabble in different game modes and complete your achievements by playing a mix of content.

Because the feature pack comes halfway through the month, April’s monthly achievements will be a special case. Until April 15, the PvE and PvP monthly categories will be separate and require only two achievements for completion. After April 15, there will be a single unified set of monthlies and dailies, and monthly completion will again require four total achievements.

There are a few other general changes to daily achievements. There will be a limit of 10,000 daily and 5,000 monthly achievement points, rotations have been updated, and several relevant achievements have been updated to function in PvP.

Why did they reset already anyway? Its only the 31st. I had literally one event left to do to complete my monthly….

Because it would be difficult to change the reset time for every timezone in the world to accomodate when the first of the month starts.

When it is the 30th or 31st for you, somewhere else in the world it may be the 1st already. Or vice-versa.

Thus reset happens so that everyone can work on the next monthly as soon as their time zone becomes the 1st. =)

It depends on where the server you are playing on is located. For euro servers it resets at 12 AM GMT, that could be still the evening of the previous day for america (4 PM PDT if I’m not wrong). At the same time, it could be early in the day for asian people playing in euro servers.

If it’s an american server, the reset happens around 7 AM GMT, if I’m not wrong.

Anyhow, it’s easy to not miss it. The achievements panel shows how much time left you have to complete it. In other words, how much time left until the reset. Watch out around what time of the day the dailies resets for you, so you will know what time is the server’s reset for you.

It resets at 7pm. But it reset the monthly at 7pm on the 31st instead of on April 1st. I am well aware AF how the resets work as I have been around since launch and been playing GW for almost 10 years. This is not a matter of my location, server, or reset times as the monthly reset a full day early causing me to miss out on 10 very valuable laurels which are worth up to 8ish gold right now.

When I logged out at around 2 am on the 30, the progression bar said ‘2 days’ until reset (though it was actually around 38 hrs). I was too exhausted after an extensive ‘dungeon teaching’ session to look for one last event so I logged off thinking “I’ll just get one last event real quick after work tomorrow.” Come to find out, after logging in the next evening, the monthlies had been reset prematurely causing me to forfeit my achievement rewards.

So, should others have to wait for your time zone to become the first of the month? What about those that would like to start working on April Monthlies on the first of April?

It can’t be changed for each time zone around the world. That would mean there would need to be several different clients. I’m sure, as an veteran player, you have experienced Monthly reset several times. It didn’t change this month, it’s the same as it always has been. Thus, not a bug.

That is an ignorant comment is all I’ll say….

Monthly reset happened on April 1st at 00:00 GMT as it usually does.

If you think the in-game timer was off, then you should report it as a bug.
