What the title says. My options reset back to default every time I log back in. It’s very annoying. Have to turn off half the stuff, tweak my camera again, etc etc.

Same for me… All the General Options panel reset. I can’t play like this, help. ._.

My graphic settings are normal, but same, all my General Options were reset. And reset on every login. It’s going to take a long time to get everything set back how I want it. And that’s if it didn’t even reset every time

Options settings are resetting for me as well whenever I login.

My settings are also messed up.

I can’t play like that and no point trying to redo them as they reset again on login.

i am not stupid, it still feels very different after changing the settings

Yeah all options in the general options panel reset for me after each update.

This includes the camera, things like looting, camera shake, time display, etc.

Same for me. Extremely annoying.

Ditto on the options reset. Problem started immediately after the first Wintersday update.

General Options all reset for me as well. And my inventory bag settings as well. From bags hidden to bags shown. ETA: Bag highlighting resets as well. Achievement watch list is also empty.

It happened first when I swapped to an alt from my main character. And now it happens when I log in.

Didn’t say you were stupid, but my mistake for stating something that others might not be aware of. You’ll have to excuse me for trying to be helpful.

As for the options, it appears that they now stick with the 2nd patch (for me). but it still means refixing all the options -_-
edit: nvm, I changed character, and all my options reset… Seems random some keep settings, some seem to change. Nothing seems consistent. No surprise there though.

Yep, same thing happened to me.
I was also getting, massive lag spikes all evening.

Same here… I’m using 64bit client.

Also, there is no way to correctly select a bug category, If you want to report it in game!

Second patch didn’t fixed it for me.

Don’t you think your hero runs different? f.e. walking around with A+W, A+D feels very different from the time before the update :o(i want the old ones back :_ (

This is happening to me as of the second patch, and the options are -NOT- saving. Personally I wouldn’t mind some kind of rollback to fix this. I don’t remember my camera settings for the life of me, and they’re too complicated for me to get it right.

sitting in the same boat, settings resets, and my inventory also resets, would like a fix, cause it will be heartbreaking being forced to set the options every login >.<

Same here.. plus everytime when I’m picking up things I’m getting pop up that my inventory is full (and it’s not)

Likewise. Options revert every time I restart the game, requiring me to re-customize my interface settings (graphics, sound, and keybinds appear to not be affected for me).

It also appears to reset my Inventory settings (specifically, the “Hide Bag” option) each time.

Same problem. Very irritating – not only do I have to fix my settings every time I swap characters, but no matter how I tweak my camera settings, it still doesn’t feel the same as it did.

I am also having this issue which is very frustrating.

Same here. Didn’t have the problem right after downloading the patch. Exited the game some hours later, just opened it and all my settings are gone.

I am getting this problem too, it’s extremely annoying having to reset all my options everytime.

Also, my characrters feel ‘slow’ despite having swiftness or 25% pasive movement speed increase, they feel as if they only have 5 or 10%.

My setting are gone each time I quit the game.
This is higly annoying.

I was wondering why my clock was off and why it wouldn’t autoloot.. I didn’t look into settings until now..

As above. Having to manually change half the general setting options, as well as inventory settings everytime i go back to login screen for any reason is really annoying.

Inventory & achievement followed are also reseted.

It’s annoying. Fortunately there are only a few changes I made in General Options but this obviously needs fixing mates.

I’m confused, why are Arenanet staff posting about this in that reddit link above? Isn’t this the official bug forum? Without Cindas posting that, I never would have known they even knew about the issue.

This is getting really annoying.

There’s no point in having a preferences setting if you’re going to keep resetting it every log in.

This is so freaking annoying. When I get home from work tomorrow I really hope this bug is fixed.

Same issue here… all my settings are getting reset. My camera is buggy as crap and is making me sick to my stomach, and I’m rubberbanding and getting logged out to either the log in screen or a hard crash all the time… which sucks because when you lose a match because of it you get 15 minutes of dishonor.

Has anyone tried performing a -prefreset command line argument to see if wiping it manually helps fix it so it doesn’t reset?

If that was tried and did not work, has anyone tried completely deleting the local.dat file where preferences are stored so a new one will be downloaded after loading the launcher? Perhaps this may help fix it.

Steps to perform -prefreset

hide spoiler

• Close your game/launcher completely
• Right-click your game shortcut and select ‘Properties’
• On the ‘Shortcut’ tab, the first line says “Target:”, immediately after the end quotation mark in this field, put a space and then add -prefreset
  It will look like this (but with your installation location):
  “F:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -prefreset
• Again, make sure there is a space between the " and -prefreset
• Run the shortcut and load the game so preferences are reset
• Reconfigure settings once again
• Exit the game
• Return to the shortcut’s properties and remove the -prefreset argument (including the space) that you added and run the game as normal to see if the preferences remain as you had just set them

Same thing here. A bit tiresome having to redo it everytime.

32 bit client, 64bit windows 10, resets the general settings everytime I launch the game. This is so annoying!

BTW you might want to reply to the reddit post too since a dev was commenting on that last night
