Hello everyone, i have an issue with my personal story. When i was doing personal story quest on level 30, i’ve decided to join the Vigil. After that, on level 40 i’ve joined my friends personal story quest and after completing first part of it (Setting the Stage) i clicked to progress with him. After that my story switched to progressing in Durmand’s Priory (i assume that’s because my friend joined that order). I don’t know is that bug or not, but is there are some way to change back to Vigil? I really liked the lore and it’s very frustrating to continue playing with unwanted decisions. If someone can suggest a way to reset a quest or to just switch back to the Vigil quest it would be great. Thank you

The game will change your story arc when you accept another’s progress, so that you can continue to play with that other player.

You should be able to switch back to your Order at the end of the next arc. (Don’t accept another’s progress.)

Be aware; this only affects story and does not affect Order vendors, etc.

Are you sure about that? I’ve found a following topic https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Story-mission-changed/first#post4167688 and people there saying that they were losing progress on their story, aswell as vendors and other Order related stuff. So i’m not sure that i should just continue questing in my current state.

You’ve linked a thread that has a Dev response assuring you this is not a bug. You can stop your PS, if you so desire, but no change to the feature allowing you to play and progress with others has been announced, or even mentioned, for the foreseeable future. Totally up to you.

Well, if it is not a bug, may be some player can help me? If someone who have joined the Vigil and still haven’t finished level 40 personal story would contact me it would be great. Please, send me a PM message here or in the game if you are willing to help me, all i am asking for is to do Setting the Stage quest together. Thank you

You might try posting over in Players Helping Players, or using the in-game LFG.

You could also use the LFG tool, it might be faster esp if other people are looking for the same part of the Personal Story.

And here we are again with this dumb feature. I still don’t get why they developed it so a player is put on the same story arc as someone else, even if temporarily. Not to mention that the window prompting to accept progression it isn’t so user-friendly. *facepalms*

Why forcing people to be put on the same story arc? Why not just finishing that story step and giving the proper credits while leaving the rest of story intact? If a player wants to keep following someone else’s story arc they can simply join them in their next instance again, no reason to mess with they story tracker. Can’t the amount of reports about this tell how confusing and user-unfriendly is it?

Well, given this is around since release and other dumb features like NPE haven’t been changed or tweaked so far, I’m not holding my breath to see it changed... *sighs*
