I’m assuming this is a bug since the actual event for the achievement has yet to take place, but in one of the Lion’s Arch overflows entering is giving out both the achievement ‘The Big Boom in the Big City’ including the reward chest. On top of that some people are also getting weapon tickets?

A guildie and I both entered the overflow and received the boxes and what it seems like is that the clock in that particular overflow is buggy, but that wouldn’t explain the weapon tickets. We’re not the only ones who received the items—the whole overflow is on about it right now.

At the moment I’m leery of opening the box or re-entering Lion’s Arch because I don’t want to somehow receive a bugged ticket as well… I was going to delete the box but still have it sitting in my inventory on my ranger.

Tons of people have this already due to a common bug that is widely known, don’t worry about it.
The amount of effort anet will need to go through and delete every person’s items (possible thousands of players) in the next within 48 hours is not worth the effort, enjoy the item.

Its the reward for watching the fireworks show. I have one too and I did notice fireworks going off in the overflow I had logged into. It also gave me the achievement for the firework show [it shows a chest icon at the end of it on the list and mine shows its complete]. I just assumed that the show was at a certain time of day and had already started. /shrug

but its kinda not fair to the players that had to work for their tickets for weapons. not to mention those that have their tickets lag out and not even show up next time they log in.

What is going on?!?!?!

I log on today to unlock some new Dragon Bash achievs and i logged on around the fountain where the hologram shatterer is and i got an achiev and a free box. I was super excited to see what awaited inside the box.. Weapon skins, armor skins!??!?! i didnt know, so i opened it and got 3 helmet skins (light, medium, heavy) The skin was the horn dragon helm skin and i was excited

though in map chat everyone was saying that it was an exploit and i may get into trouble for having the item but it wasnt my fault i just logged on, and i then did some research and the achiev does say fireworks start this weekend, but for some reason i got the helmet before and im really scared that i could be banned misunderstandingly because i could not stop it, i want to know if these rumors are true

id also like to know if i am in any danger of being banished from Tyria,

I would relax.
Its a bug/glith. Wouldnt call it an exploit.
U did nothing to get that reward.

I got them the first day.
Put the skins in my bank.
I am not gonna delete them.

Yes relax everyone who watches the fireworks show should get it, just maybe need to be there right time of day /game time? Its not unfair as everyone can easily get it, not competing with any other skins.

If I open my achievements and look for “The Big Boom in the Big City” the text says: “The Ship’s Council presents a stunning fireworks display as part of the INAUGURAL Dragon Bash celebrations.”

I don’t think it’s a bug. If the Ship’s Council presents a fireworks display to start the Dragon Bash celebrations, nothing is wrong here. I logged on, went to the Lion’s Court and got the achievement for watching the Council’s initial firework…

And don’t panic… Even if this firework was not intented to start yet, arenanet won’t ban you for a mistake THEY made. Don’t delete the items you received, because you maybe won’t get them a second time after the “real” fireworks start. You’ll do a favor to the customer service, because restoring these items is more work than letting players wear a unique helmet some days earlier.

Before delete your box, you should check the achievement in your tab. If it’s marked, although it’s bugged (for time), it’s work as intended (for horn skin). In addition you wont get it again in intended time. (Some people may jealous about this >.<). But if your achievement tab is not marked, it’s a big bug. (in this case, if you want to delete it, its up to you actually).

Category exploit: you do an action which is in your control but your action is not intended. For example: in first day: you know there is food buff (hp regen) bug in dragon ball, but you use the food buff, here you have exploited the game. But this, you go to LA, suddenly you get achievement and chest. You don’t have control about this (although you can join in that LA using party tab, but you may put randomly to this overflow). This is not exploit.
