I understand that latency issues are usually client-side problems with their private connection however, I know I’m not the only one who has been noticing sudden lag spikes during PVP matches for the past 2 weeks or so. I noticed mine started getting worse around the weekend where some games go smoothly but some cause me to either wait until the lag spike ends or reconnect to the game. A lot of times I notice skill lag and “rubberbanding” to previous positions (about 500 range or so in game terms). It’s becomes so infuriating, especially when playing a melee burst class, since there’s no way I can be sure that my attacks would land or if they even register due to lag. I’m using a fiber optics connection with 75mbps upload / 75mbps download and have no problems with it outside of GW2. I can play any other online game without any issue and I’m even to stream multiple HD videos without any hiccups/buffering. So, is this something that you guys are aware of and working to fix or do you think it’s something that’s happening on the client’s side?

(I even turned off other programs like Steam and I made sure no active updates/downloads are happening in the background — not that it mattered before)

EDIT: Also, I forgot to mention: I think it might be helpful to know that Guild Chat/Roster is having minor issues as well. It usually happens when I first log in and it takes about almost a minute before the guild chart shows people who are online. Takes about 10~20 seconds for the first guild chat messages to appear then it’s fine after that. All these issues, along with the PVP match lag, started something around last week.

I’ve noticed this as well. I’ve repaired the client as per instructions and have rechecked all firewall settings. Heck, I ran a complete scan and defragmented the hd and still no luck. I highly doubt that it is your system or my system. Hopefully Anet can isolate the issue and fix it.
