Basically since HoT launched I am having a bug where the Personal Stories aren’t giving Mastery points when they should. The only one I have any for is my main Sylvari, who had points retroactively applied for the steps I did pre-HoT launch.

I did some steps on my human which should have given Mastery, but did not, and a few on my Charr to see if was a single toon bug. When I go to the Hero tab, the only one that lists a Mastery point is Savior of Tyria, which I have not yet done on my main Sylvari, but none of the others do.

What’s annoying is after doing the racial steps it says that I SHOULD have gotten a Mastery Point, but did not. Based on what I’ve completed I have earned 24 Mastery Points for Tyria, but only received 19. The Personal story is the only thing that’s bugged since Mastery points for killing bosses and collections are visible and working fine.

There is no point in trying to complete more personal story for my toons because I won’t be getting what I really want, which is the Mastery Points.

Wow necro thread. This is not a bug. Mastery Points for everything in the “Hero” section are awarded on a per-chapter basis, not for every achievement for the different race/order achievements.

Yeah. I hope Anet acknowledges this bug and fix it promptly. I was hoping to use character story quest to fill up my last few missing Tyria masteries, but it doesn’t work right now. The people who have completed personal stories prior to the expansion were lucky and received these masteries.

I am having the same problem. I have only been awarded three mastery points for completing the racial story achievements for, I assume, those completed on my first character, a Norn. However, I have not been given points for doing the same level of story achievements on my Sylvari, Human or Azura characters.

The mastery points are displayed in the achievement panel but have not been added to my account. This has happened for story achievements completed both before and after HOT launched.

Hopefully this is a bug, that can be fixed, rather than happening as intended. Can anyone confirm that they have received these mastery points on alts?

I am not sure if your saying your not getting mastery points for stories you haven’t yet done with your main, or if your saying your not getting mastery points for story steps you repeated on your alts. You can only ever get a specific mastery point once per account, so if you do a story that gives a mastery point with your main, you can’t repeat it later to get it again with an alt. This is intended, as mastery points are a fixed quantity and apply to your whole account.

Edit: I just did a Tyria Mastery Point audit on my character, and I found out by counting achievements that I am missing 14 Tyria Mastery Points. I had completed every racial story (all 5 races) and all 3 orders before the release of HoT. By doing a little math, there are 3 racial Mastery Points per race, and 1 ‘Order’ mastery point per order. So thats 18 points showing on the achievement panel if you complete every race and every order. If you complete only 1 race and 1 order, thats 4 points. 18 – 4 = 14. I am guessing this is intended behavior as these all count as the same ‘stage’ in the personal story, and effects you no matter if you did them pre-HoT or post-HoT. So, either this is a situation that they need to clarify in the panel that you only get credit for 1 race and 1 order or it is actually a bug and I am due 14 more Mastery points!

You should have those extra points. I know I’m not getting them and that it’s a bug because I’m not even getting the ones related to the personal racial stories. I haven’t done any other racial stories other than my Sylvari prior to HoT launch. It will show as not giving a Mastery point prior to completing the step, and the after I’ve done it it will be in the detailed info saying it gave me a MP, but did not. Family Reunion and Storming the Castle both did this on my human toon, having never done the human story prior to HoT launch, are supposed to give a MP but did not.

In total, the Personal Story for all races, Orders, etc, should award 22 MP’s, but I’ve only gotten the 5 I did on my Sylvari pre-HoT.

I’m worried if I keep completing them just for the ap, they’ll turn around and not give me the MP’s I’m short because I’ve obviously gotten the ap, so I should already have the MP too :/

Same thing. Did 4 acts of PS for my first Asura character to get 3 racial MP and 1 more for full member of Order of Whispers. After I did first 3 acts and didn’t get anything but AP for each of them, I thought that reaching lvl 80 might fix it. So I finished Act 4 as lvl 80 character, but it didn’t help.

Surprisingly anet keeps being silent on this subject, which tends to grow a seed of frustration inside me…

I have this issue too and boy, is it frustrating. I’m so bummed this hasn’t been fixed yet. I tried doing the first Sylvari story and wasted two hours leveling because I still didn’t get the mastery point. I really hope this is fixed ASAP because I’m now capped out on Tyria XP without the mastery points I’m owed to hit the next track level.
