I am stuck at the “Find Rox’s first markings.” of Sign Cutting story. I got to the first object and see the interact icon appear, but cannot actually interact with it.

My party member was able to progress through the story, but I did not get any credit. I know of another party of two where one member was able to progress and the other is stuck at this part.

I tried leaving party, leaving zone, logging out, guesting, etc without luck.

Stuck at this as well, except stuck at the last marking.

I’ve relogged, switched characters, rezoned, everything. I even abandoned the story and selected a new one, then went back to it, as suggested in another thread. Nothing.

Can’t progress any further cause I can’t interact with the final marking.

I just went through this with several fails and stalls at different markers of the quest.

You will need to drop the quest, choose another story and go back to it. Then it will say you have to work on mastery for the poison thing. Then you port to LA and back and it should be reset. From then on you just cant be in a group or near anyone else doing the quest when they click the objective. As soon as someone else clicks the objective it will freeze yours out and you wont be able to interact with the items to progress. It’s a pain in the butt especially when getting to the final mark and failing. Hope this helps you get past this.

Yes, switch to another quest, switch back to the current one, and then go to character select and back to reset.

The bug seems to be position related; instead of trying to interact with the object from in front, try to do it from behind.

This worked for me: Approach the first point from deeper into the map, directly behind. For the second point, run along the vine and glide toward it. For the third, try to skate around the side to interact. Hope it helps.

It looks like this quest can bug out on different stages. Mine bugged out after following trail (i have grey “follow Rox trail”) and abandoning story dont reset my progress.
Devs are aware of this issue and working on a fix

Thanks everyone. I tried out Azale’s suggestion with success. You really need to make sure nobody is around you when you find the tracks.

Frustration starting to build up with this HoT storyline. Yes, I know there are many bugs at the beginning, no need to remind me. But 2 storyline bugged for me on 2 different characters, one is with Scout Acan and now this with Rox while following his trail. I kinda focused on it that I’m ignoring everything else, so you can see where I’m coming from

Heart of Thorns Story

Fixed an issue in which the Sign Cutting quest would not properly bypass the Mastery requirement for certain players. Additionally, fixed an issue with Rox’s markings not properly completing the quest step on interaction.

Test failed, still bugging :/

a year later and this bug is still happening, i have done everything here, and still, cannot complete the last marking on my thief, customer support, while helpful, in the end redirected me to here to no avail.
