Currently playing a Ranger with the Brown Bear pet and at random times, the volume of my pet’s footsteps becomes EXTREMELY loud. Louder than anything else in the game and way above the volume level I selected for master volume.

This also happens with other people’s pets as they walk by. Storing my pet and then reactivating him seems to make the problem go away for a time.

Haven’t been able to reproduce consistently as it seems to happen at random. Also spoke with a few guild-mates and they mentioned the same issue with other people’s pets and the footstep sound.

I have this problem on my Elementalist with the Glyph of Elementals/Lesser Elementals. It doesn’t always happen, but when it does my minion pets are painfully LOUD and they normally do not make any sound with my sound setting levels.

My party members can also hear the extreme volume when this happens.

I’ve had this happen to me at least once already – really took me by surprise! I had two Fire elementals out and the “flapping” of their wings was extremely loud! Not sure what caused it.

This actually isn’t just happening with pets. It just seems most common with them. I’ve had it happen so far with:

Notification ding for 1 specific event (when I left and came back it was normal) It was like a pan crashing in my ear…it hurt, and my game volume is really really low.

Other peoples pets (particularly elementals)

When my char (no pets) went swimming in a lake shortly after log in. The water/swimming sounds were painfully loud. Leave the lake, volume is normal, back into the lake, break an eardrum, I repeated this and it was consistent. I left the map and came back later, no sound glitch.

All and all it seems to be very random noises with the pets being the most common.

I have noticed the occasional Event audio (when enemy mobs are talking and such) is super loud too. I don’t know if it’s related, though. I do know that my guildmates hear it loud too when it happens. We voicechat on Skype while partied, and everyones commented about the very loud NPCs at times.

This is extremely annoying and it has happened a lot to me lately.
First i was not sure what it was, but i quickly figured out that it stopped whenever the pet was standing still.
I’m not a ranger so this has only happened with other peoples pets.
The problem being that i can’t even remove the pet, so i have to play through the dynamic event with incredibly loud footsteps.
It’s not a high priority issue, but just letting you know that there is definitely a bug!

Im pretty positive that it has only happened with the brown bear to me.

I can confirm this is still occurring to me as well, but has only been present with the Black Bear, its footsteps are amplified in volume as is any movement underwater. Only leaving the map/instance seems to solve the sound bug, or swapping the pet.
