Pick up item glitch
Yeah, I hope this get fixed asap.. But it happens for me even though I didn’t get interrupted.
I tried to pick Reflecting Crystal up in Jade Maw this evening. I couldn’t use any of my skills, can’t pick up anything, even my dodges didn’t consume any energy(can roll around but no evades).
Good thing that getting downed/killed fixed it.
I came to the bugs subforum specifically looking to see if this had been reported yet. It’s rampant since the last patch. I had it happen in WvW the other night, where I was trying to pick up an explosive in the Hylek merc camp while a toxic event was occurring. Wasn’t able to pick up anything else or use any skills. I had to log out and back in to fix it.
Today, was doing keg brawl, went to pick up a keg and accidentally moved before finishing picking up the keg (thus interrupting myself), and couldn’t use any skills or pick up any other kegs. Running into someone’s icy patch cleared me.
I would like to contribute to the WvW aspect of this bug, as a warrior by dropping down any banners, if you are mid running and try to pick it up this bug stated above will occur. But in my personal experience when I get infinite dodge I do evade attacks, also the only way to get rid of the bug is to die or get stunned. Also building siege and getting on siege sometimes works. I say sometimes because I once got into an omega golem and had infinite dodge (running golem) and I couldn’t get out since you can’t use any skills while under the affects of this bug.

Exactly this happened to me on Jade Maw as well.
Yeah this bug is garbage…it isn’t even due to picking something up..Idk how many times I have rallied in WvW or a dungeon and not been able to attack or anything. Hey Anet fix your game instead of adding garbage Living World.
It has happened to me when trying to pick up objects found by my ranger’s porcine pets. If I “miss” picking an item up for any reason, like I’m not perfectly on top of it when I try to pick it up, I lose all use of my skills until I die. Gotta love it! I started having this problem about 6 to 8 weeks ago.

And it happened again, this time on Tequatl. I was not picking up anything, so I guess the two are not always related.
I’ve been having this problem as well. Or a variant of it at least. It doesn’t seem to happen to me every single time I try to pick something up but it’s very frequent and can drastically impact a lot of things.
It’s mostly impacted me in Fractals of the Mists as multiple fractals require picking up and using items to progress. Most of those events require fairly precise timing or the group can fail. The shields and cooling rods in the Thaumanova Reactor fractal, the hammer in Cliffside, the infused rocks in the Volcanic fractal, the reflecting crystals when fighting the Jade Maw, etc.
In most cases, I simply can’t pick up items. I’ve rarely lost the use of my skills. It has happened on occasion, though, and that’s extra frustrating. Whenever this happens, I’m unable to dodge properly (endurance doesn’t go down, I don’t evade, or I simply don’t dodge at all). Usually repeatedly hitting the F key and changing my position slightly over the object let’s me pick up the item. Or, in the case of the infused rocks in the Volcanic fractal, it actually randomly duplicates the item I’m trying to pick up without actually letting me pick it up.

This was used to happen to me with gather items around PvE some time ago, I haven’t noted it happening lately though.
Another thing I see happening and blocking skills is on water. When fighting underwater and evading up near surface and I even went to surface, when I dove back quickly I was without skills, the buttons on screen would blink as I pressed the keys but no hits and such. Neither switching weapons solved it, I had to go out of water then my skills would come back.
