the level 9 heart event “help paenula train the troops” is bugged. The fight pit won’t activate and when using one of his rifles to capture minotaurs and drakes it won’t reward any progress either. this makes world completion impossible…

You have to get the drakes/minotaurs to below 50% health and then use the net to get credit that way.

Part of the problem is she still mentions the fighting pit and talking to the guy to get it started…but then you talk to the guy and he says yeah you can fight…then nothing happens.

They only sort of removed it.

That post of mine above shows screenshots of her talking about the fighting pit…and the description of the heart mentions the fighting pit.

So the NPE bugged the heart because otherwise why would the NPC AND the heart description both still mention the fighting pit.

This is a bug (IMO) because the in-game description mentions a mechanic that is broken.

If this was purely NPE changing the heart the description and NPC text should have changed too. Otherwise this makes it even more complicated and confusing to a genuinely new player.

Yeah, it makes no sense to leave in the same dialogue/description when they clearly removed that part of the heart.

Unless its just broken and they need to fix it, otherwise they would have changed the dialogue…its just been broken since then.. and these threads keep showing up, and if they read the forums like they say they do. They know about it. if it was just the text they forgot to change i would figure we would have seen that changed by now.

Another thing that bugs me, why did they remove the heart bit where you turn into a sylvari hound, but leave the heart out in wayfarer foothills where you get turned into a cat?

I wasted forever to find out that the fight pits are removed/bug last time I did map completion. Its outrageous that Anet removes something like this from the game.

Annoying yes but outrageous? Really overreacting there.

The pit was somewhat poorly implemented but the simple way to fix that is just to get rid of the popup and only allow interacting with the NPC to start it. That still leaves the problem allowing someone to trap another person in there. No idea if that ever became a big issue but it’s not a good setup.
