Bugs happen in lots of games all the time. Stop being so dramatic.
As a work around to getting the Gauntlets, go complete the PvP/WvW reward track.
Have you tried being the only one that kicked the particular chicken? Because I’ve had an issue that if anyone kicked the chicken before me it wouldn’t register for the achievement and since a lot of people just kick the chickens to get the feathers a lot of them are pre-kicked at least once. Try kicking one until it disappears and then wait for it to respawn and make sure you are the only one who is kicking the chicken.

for hours …they do not disappear . its not being dramatic ive been dealing with these constant bugs since beta. you waste your time kicking chickens for 3+ hours and tell me you wouldnt be a bit frustrated.
There’s another thread up about this, I’ll copy paste my personal experience about related to this:
I did this achievement this weekend with a chicken that gave feathers, and it took me well over 10 kicks to get it (at least 30). Finally got it by repeatedly kicking him into a wall as quickly as I could. I was the only one kicking it, no events were going on in the area.
Just kicked a chicken 60 times against the wall…no achievement
it was just me kicking no events in the area
400 times yesterday. same chicken and up against the wall as fast as i could. it might have been working this past weekend no doubt but its not now.
Kicked one for more than 300 times (didn’t start counting until I’d already kicked it many, many times). Went back today and tried again, stopping at about 30. Not going to try again until I see they put a fix in for it.
This is extremely frustrating because most people don’t believe you when you say its not working, they probably already did it before it got bugged, so they think your doing something wrong.
I concur with the above poster who says bugs like this make you want to leave the game. When you set yourself a goal and work hard on it, the find out its broken and uncompletable you have no choice but to give up. Then you need to think about another goal to work on, but you wonder if that ones going to be broken too, whats the point.
apparently im too stupid to kick a ****** chicken … finally got a response to my tickets. basically telling me im doing it all wrong…like how many ways have we tried to kick these things and it doesnt work. it doesnt turn red now and it doesnt blow up .
“Thanks for reaching out to Guild Wars 2 support. The Chicken Chaser achievement and associated title, as you pointed out, require the player ‘kick’ an NPC chicken in the Grawl cave in Bitterfrost Frontier until it turns red and explodes. Sometimes effects like a Guardian’s aegis can interfere with the final blow dealt. If you can, please try again and take a video of the attempt so that I can see what exactly is occurring. If you can host it on YouTube or Vimeo and then link it to me, I’ll give it a look and see if I can’t figure out why it’s not granting you credit. Regrettably I’m not able to grant achievement credit manually, but I’ll see what I can do to help. I’ll wait to hear from you.”
so instead of them simply logging in and seeing for themselves i’ve got to give them video proof… /shakes fist angrily

Um, no. They aren’t asking for ‘proof’ — they are asking for data. There are 1538 different factors that might be affecting your experience; a video would make it easier for them to narrow it down.
You could probably achieve a similar effect by giving them a link to gw2skills.net showing your build, gear, etc. Or you could try the chieve using a different character, which would be another way of testing their theory.
The support staffer made it clear they believe you; they just aren’t sure where to start and are looking to you for help by pointing them in one direction.
This is currently a bug that we’re having with the Playing Chicken Achievement. We’re currently aware of the situation and are working towards getting a fix in for the issue. Thank you for reporting this!
