We all know gw2 has tons of bugs, and anyone who has ever read the bugs forums or played different parts of the game has undoubtedly encountered numerous bugs.

I want to know with all the bugs that are constantly reported, that you know exist, that have been around for weeks, months even years!

How do you at anet prioritize bug fixing, because in all honesty there is a point where it gets just absolutely irritating watching updates/patches come and go and still not seeing bugs fixed.

Can you please shed some light on how you guys go about this, and if possible PLEASE make a bigger push to fix some of these bugs that just keep piling up and have been around for so long. I mean whats the point of constantly reporting bug after bug if it feels like nothing is done about it.

Does bug effect esports and/or gem store sales:

if yes → fix

if no→ throw away bug report

There you go.

Bugs that are easy to fix gets fixed fast and bugs that are hard and/or with no visible cause takes longer.

Bugs effecting many people or big part of the game gets higher priority.
Bugs effecting real-life currency and such most likely gets the highest.
Bugs that results in exploits are probably also rather high on the list.

Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square

Bugs are prioritized by how many are affected, cost, how damaging it is to the game and if there is a viable workaround. Keep in mind that different types of bugs have to go through different teams and if the bug isn’t damaging, new content has a higher priority.

It’s funny. There was this strange section in Divinity’s Reach that you could fall through and “swim” under the graphics of the city. When you got to a certain point, you could log off, then on again, and you would appear on the top spire of the city. Nice view too. THIS they fixed by adding an invisible wall/bubble(?) around the spot.

There was no strategic advantage, no mob you could kill or thing you could farm. You could not make gold from it. But they HAD to fix that asap because…you know…it was easy to do, or something.

I figured it out guys!

So Foulbear Kraal had several bugs involved with it. Some events get stuck, some NPCs end up in the wrong place, the gate was named wrong and sometimes the meta event doesn’t show on the screen when its active.

Guess what? After looking into the issue, THEY FIXED IT! The gate now correctly says “Ogre Gate” instead of “Oger Gate!”

Yes yes, I know. It’s more complicated than that. I can sympathize. I just thought it was too funny.

You have it wrong. It’s possible to spawn “stuck” inside the spawn points on some maps in sPvP. It happened to me once right after the game was released, and again a few months ago. I’m sure I reported it both times.

Fumble dodges are still in the game. Bugs with fundamental class functions are still in the game (most notably, see Mesmer. Also see any and all teleport skills in the entire game.).

Obviously, they might have tried (or be trying) to fix these bugs, but are having issues for whatever reason. We don’t know. There is no communication on this front. All we do know is (many) bugs relating to crashes get fixed, bugs related to the gem store get fixed, and bugs related to the living story get fixed. All other bugs seem to be very rarely fixed, and mostly just completely ignored as if ANET doesn’t care. Given the lack of communication, and the lack of bug fixes that relate to fundamental issues with actual game play along with rapid bug fixes to things that might affect their revenue from the gem store, it’s certainly a plausible explanation that ANET simply does not care.

still waiting for anet to fix year old bug

Thats exactly my point, thats what frustrates me the most. I mean why even bother reporting bugs at all if they just prioritize the ones that are important to us as low priority.

It is very annoying to see the same qol/profession bugs persist month after month with no word, updates, or fix.

I understand anet cares about the gem store stuff, ok they gotta make money I get it, but maybe some push for player qol fixes? There are literally bugs that go back to launch that are still unfixed, not just with professions, but meta events for example that have many longstanding bugs that are now required for unlocking traits still not fixed.

I’ll mention 2 here that defy reasonable thought.

1) Potion bug. For a long time slaying potions were bugged that players would receive increased dmg from foes instead of decreased. It was reported and know for a very long time yet never attended to. Then Scarlet’s patch came in and potions of Scarlet slaying were introduced also bugged. Within an hour the bug to all potions was fixed.

2)Daily activity bug. For a while prior to dragon bash daily activities were bugged that consumables, traits, runes, and sigils would trigger while in activities. This completely broke all activities. It was reported and known. Then dragon bash was introduced with the bug breaking the festively mini games. Very promptly it was patched and fix.

Here’s my issue………They were able to fix both of these within a very short amount of time. Since these were known about, reported, and able to fixed quickly…WHY did they not address them sooner?

Serenity now~Insanity later
