It is irritating me to no end that the search box automatically ‘searches’ while I am typing. I know I am only one person and to change something for just one is dumb. But I feel like it would be a better experience with the forum search if it would not search until the enter key or magnifying glass were pressed.

I have to scroll back up, type two characters, scroll back up…repeat until my query is entered.

You might consider reading the ‘Sticky’ above.

Also, what the Sticky doesn’t say is that no changes or improvements are possible. You can use Google to search for the Dev posts that explain why, if you so desire.

Never going to happen, Anet doesn’t have the funds to invest to fix or replace their forums to enhance its’ use for their customers.

I use google (or other search engines) for just about every forum/site these days. There are very few sites that do nearly as well finding the content I want, including Reddit (which has a robust search).

They have the funds. They choose to invest them in QoL improvements for the game rather than the forums.

Forum functionality for a lot of companies is always going to be contracted out to a third party, which means that there are always going to be issues between what the 3rd party offers and what the game’s players want or need. This forum works, if a bit clunky. It’s better than many forums for bigger companies; it’s worse than some, too.

This forum works, even it’s creaky.
