Please return my "storm"
This is the copy of the basic advisor team’s answer.
Basically it says we sorry about the bug make you lost your item. But we can’t help anything. Because “we do not have the tool”!
But I know Anet has the “tool” because one of my friend got his lost item back.
So please help out.
So if you need a higher level advisor or a team leader to solve it out the problem please let them contact to me instead of just say “sorry” but do nothing.
I mean you should know how hard is the feeling that you got a precursed item out of the forge and just lost it from the bug right away.
Hmmm this is really not the true storry, because i do know who got the same issue and get the item returned to him.
They always say that because gw2 does not provide replacements for lost items. Though most likely, it was lost because of something the user did (they obviously will say otherwise but I have yet to meet a bug which makes items disappear (aside from a small server rollback which would be all over the forums)
Also, your screenshot proof is weak. You do not show the weapon is in your inventory at all. If anet handed out weapons based on a text code (which can easily be found from gw2db, everyone will have precursors by now.
What most likely happened and this happens more than it should, is people throw stuff in forge, get a precursor but do not realise they got it, then threw it back into the forge accidentally (because the icon looks the same as a normal scepter).

Lafiel is correct on all counts. Your proof is weak, and I support the GW2 support’s decision. Furthermore, support only reverts accounts to prior states in the case of a hacking, not in the case of a player messing up.
well thats the bug, if i know it will lost by lick the link i won’t link it at the 1st place.
2nd if i know it will lost by this bug i will sure take a screen shot before it lost in the invintory.
if this is happend on your charater you will not say something like that for sure lol.
but i wont blame lol. i am not that stupit to drop it back to the forge as the storm is an excotic, i only forge the yellows.

People make mistakes, just like how your post is filled with them.
(also linking items don’t cause things to disappear)

again if it happend to you, you wont say like this. Do not say it like a sure thing. but thats the end of the story. I won’t waste time to explain anymore things. + do you think its not a problem of the UI if player do able to lost a expensive item like this.
Just go to check how GM help in Finalfantasy XI and WOW before you try to say something.

I know a disappearing bug that happens on occasion for me, but I discovered how to un-disappear the items.
One instance I dragged a stack of 50 consumables from my bank to my bag, but the result was them disappearing from my bank but not appearing in my bag. I already had a stack of 19 of that same consumable in the same bag I dragged the stack of 50 to, but it still read as 19, not 69 if it had merged with it for some reason, even though I dragged the 50 stack to an empty spot.
I thought they just disappeared as relogging made no difference. I then dragged the stack of 19 to my bank, then back to my bag (to the same spot I originally pulled it from) and the empty spot where I had dragged the 50 stack earlier suddenly updated and showed the stack of 50.
“Its no longer shows in my bag or bank.”
When you forged it and received it into your bag, did you move it to any other bag slot, or move it to your bank and then back to your bag? If so, then this bug of the bag not updating to display the added/moved item might be the culprit.
Can try 2 things.
1.
Try to remember exactly which slot of your bag Storm was in when it disappeared. Drag another item from your bag to that spot. If it is there, but invisible, then Storm will be swapped to the spot of the other item and it might update and display it properly. Also, try dragging an item from your bank to the bag slot Storm was in as the items might then be swapped and Storm will be in your bank, and the bank item in the slot Storm was in.
2.
Switch the order of your bags. By switching the order, the slots and the items contained in them are updated and arranged differently. If it is just that Storm is invisible then this might help fix it. Also, you can try emptying all of your bags and see if your bags still shows an item contained in it. 1/15, 1/20, etc. Can also attempt to “Auto-arrange/organize” your bags, maybe after you’ve emptied them also.
If it is just not displaying Storm in the bag, then something I’ve mentioned here may help you out.
Good luck.

This has nothing to do with it happening to me. As a matter of fact, I’ve been in similar situations where I lost items because of Anets fault (world wide mini server roll back) but they still said they can’t restore anything for me. I am merely stating a fact that no matter how that item was lost, Anet does not do item restorations other than the account wide restoration if you got hacked. No point comparing GMs from other games, it won’t help.
This is as Anet is stating not a bug. They dont have to prove it is not a bug, and they dont have to tell you what you did wrong and how you could have prevented it.
Your item will not be restored.
Don’t get me wrong. I do symphatize with your loss. But the above is the only bad news you are getting and nothing will change the fact that it is lost. So you have the option to waste your energy by complaining, but you will only make a fool out of yourself, and win nothing in the end. Or you could move along. If this experience makes you decide to not play GW2 for a prolonged time, I totally understand that. I prolly would log off, uninstall and maybe after a 3 month cool down consider reinstalling.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I simply can’t imagine, that it just vanishes – did you have a massive lag and returned back into the game? That happened to me once. I was thrown back some 2 minutes. Imagine this happens, while you create Dusk in the Mysic Forge – ouch.
However, there are problems like previewing items and buying something with tokens (withough the confirmation prompt). I wrote them too – lost 180 hard earned Shards of Zhaitan, same answer. I am quite surprised, they ’don’t have the tools’. I don’t know, but usually in MMOs, they easily can help you, for examle they helped me with a similar issue in AION (also NCsoft). They really should implement something like this.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
They really should make a tool for individual item restoration…
They DO have the tools. I’ve seen people get a different ascended ring when bought a second one of the same exact type, because of the weak “unique” nature warning on them.
Arenanet surely can help here, but they don’t want a wave of people making claims for every thing that is wrong in this game. They would have to attend to a lot of petitions, give a lot of items, and lose a lot of money. They rather keep the money sink mechanics and the auto-answers.
I am very sorry for your loss…
I am sure you used the preview button but accidently clicked on destroy which is right under it. In your adrenaline rush that you got the precursor you misread the warning about destroying your item.
Reading all the posts, looking at your weak evidence, I come to the conclusion that this is most likely what happened, whether you know it or like it or not.
Be glad you got a precursor in the first place, most of us haven’t found one yet. 200 gold is a lot of money to most, but only with the factors time and effort. It is perfectly doable to get 200 gold in a 2 weeks time while still going to work or school. Unfortunately you either have to be lucky, or take your time and patience to get it.
It is only the scepter, I would cry if it was either of the bows or rifle…

Sad this can happen. It seems to me there should be a pop up whenever you go to destroy anything, asking you if this is what you really want to do. That might have helped if he did, indeed, hit the wrong button.
I’ve never destroyed anything so do not know if this mechanic is even in the game. I do know that Anet has put into place other pop up boxes to make the player verify that the action they are trying to do, is truly the one they want.
