During beta, the VERY first companion I rushed out to charm was the Eagle (which looked like a Bald Eagle), as it is my Spirit Animal and very dear to my heart. I was so completely happy to have it, and it and I explored Tyria together during beta.

The last beta weekend, I noticed that the model was a bit different, and looked like a yearling, which bothered me. I figured it was just some mixup and let it go.

Now that the game has been out a bit, I notice that it has not changed back to my beloved Eagle, and am afraid it may be here to stay.

Would someone from ANet PLEASE tell me that this is a bug that will be addressed where the Eagle looks like a Bald Eagle to distinguish it from the Hawk?

I hereby second this motion to make the change to this beloved companion.

yes please fix the models so that they look distinct i mean they have the same abilities and the same icon please fix it so that at least in looks they are unique [ets

From what I’ve seen I believe most pets are distinguishable from each other, so why not the eagle and hawk, they do look very similar.
I agree with BloodEagle and it would be nice to see it like a bald eagle so we are able to tell which pet it is at a glance, like the rest.

oh! related.. can we PLEASE have a scaled drake like the icon shows instead of the ugly Marsh drake?

Still hoping for a response to this myself. All over Tyria I travel, my Eagle and I, exploring the vast areas, and everytime I come across a Bald Eagle, I sigh heavily, wishing that my stalwart companion could look as amazing as its brethren, like it did in beta.

I keep watching this thread in the hops that someone from ANet will just let me know it is a bug and will be fixed.

Blood I dont know what you mean about beta as even in your pic its not a bald eagle.. but please fix the two/three pets that have incorrect icons and looks! Blad eagle/hawk and the Marsh drake.. which really should be the scaled drake the picture shows!

During Beta weekends 1 and 2, when you charmed the Juevenille Eagle, it was a Bald Eagle, i.e. white head and while tail feathers, just like in life and just like you see from most of the Eagle’s flying around.

You know, when I used an eagle tonic it turned me into the bald eagle, not the one in the photo above. They obviously have the eagle skin, just need to change it for the ranger pet.

I myself have been thinking about getting an eagle for my ranger and plan on getting all the ranger pets that are available. I really would like to be able to look at my pet and be able to tell at a glance and know which pet is out hawk or eagle. If they look that similar I would have to hover over the picture to figure it out. Please give them distinct looks. Especially with the Bald Eagle being our Nation icon Bird.
