I’ve accumulated a bunch of rare back braces and there’s apparently very little you can do with them: They won’t go into the forge and they can’t be salvaged. Is this intended or bugged?

Can we get some sort of response on this, the back braces are piling up and I’m running out of inventory space quickly with all the exotic armor from FotM being soulbound.

They r not salvageable.

Can Anet can announce that back armor wil never be salvagable or you can never use it at the MF?
Hopefully this will change in the future

i also noticed it because i got a rare back drop, i simply can agree with the op since back drops are really rare and don’t deserve such low prices as 3silver
while sigils arent salvagable too, i think back pieces should at least be salvagable for ectos

Not only backslot items, but also jewelry from drops (that is soulbound by default) cannot be salvaged too.

That isn’t exactly true, I’ve salvaged a few rare rings I’ve gotten as drops / from chests in FotM.

I hope the spineguard thing is a bug, I’ve salvaged the other back pieces that look like books.

I’d settle for being able to toss them into the forge, but that’s also not an option at present.

I think whats only left for us to do is to report this bug within game and hope they see it.

Cant use green accesories for the commander commendations thing on the mistyc forge,
but you can use blue ones!! wtf

I hope this is a bug. Spineguards just waste my bank slot. It cannot be salvaged and cannot be used in mystic forge. I can’t even get my gem back from previous backpiece. Isn’t it ridiculous??

I’ve had a lot of these as well, can’t salvage them, can’t sell them to the merchant.. can’t do anything with them.. so what’s the point?

yes it is really anoying that you can’t salvage them. When they drop you think yes rare! but no just junk! I don’t understand why the can’t be salvaged. A-net please respond to this?

yeh it needs a fix, you used to only be able to get back peices from sotry or for karma so im thinking they tagged it as unsalvagable but they tagged it generally instead of adding the arguments needed for other loot..

They need to add some if thens and fix it soon

Not only can we not salvage them, we cannot use them in mystic forge. I also don’t understand why we cannot salvage ascended rings for the infusion or other mist essence mats, etc.

Plaz fix this. I am stuck with an exquisite gem I can’t salvage it back.

I am having the same issue. I have a gem I wanted to change out to a ring, but I can’t salvage it off of of the Sentinel’s Perch Scout badge.

If there’s no intended fix, could there at least be a warning on the items saying that certain ones won’t be salvageable?

I’d also like to hear an official reply to this. I’ve got a plenty of them in the bank and can’t get rid of them. There’s no sense that all the other items can be salvaged and forged but not these ones? Please fix this bug.
