The preserved queen bee trinket item (which was changed to Winter’s Presence for a time) was changed back, but now it is account bound, which it was not before. How can I sell it now? Please change it back to not be account bound like it was before.

Plus, it apparently has the frosty aura (with bees) instead of the buzzy/yellow aura.

The bees are back but now there is a frosty aura like from Winter’s Presence above my head. Some people may not mind but I think it’s odd. Just bought this thing recently for my yellow theme (it costs a lot) and I hope it gets fixed completely.

I also want to note that when dying (such as falling to your death) you have an icy dying animation with the Preserved Queen Bee on or off. The “icy head” animation is also persistent with the Preserved Queen Bee on or off. I can remove all my armor and the animations are still persistent.

Wow! Same issue I’m having here, even if I remove my item, the “Icy Animation” over my head still there with/without armor/items.

I hope they fix it.

Throwing in my 2 cents, since Gaile said to in DR a few minutes ago. Frosty aura without the Bee on me, even naked, dead, and in pvp.

This item is still bugged (a month later):

• It has the wrong aura (frosty, instead of honey).
• It is still account bound; when first acquired (or purchased on the TP), it was unbound.

I would like to see this item changed back as well. I am using the Queen Bee on one of my Sylvari, trying to give them a warm, colorful, tropical feel. It doesn’t quite work with the extra frosty bits.

For those of you who do not know at the beginning of Wintersday 2016 the upgrade Preserved Queen Bee was replaced with Winter’s Presence. After a while of waiting, this issue was supposedly fixed. But players who had the Preserved Queen Bee equipped were left with an “icy head” aura and also a icy falling damage animation that originally belonged to Winter’s Presence in conjunction with the bee aura, trail, and falling damage animation. But, when removing the Preserved Queen Bee from the player character, and even all equipment for that matter, players who had/have the Preserved Queen Bee equipped were left with the leftover aura and falling damage animation from Winter’s Presence.
Players who have Winter’s Presence may not know but your aura is actually incomplete. The “icy head” aura and falling animation effects are actually stuck on player characters who had/have the Preserved Queen Bee equipped.
Personally, I do not like the added effects that are now stuck on my main character. I actually spent real world money on gems and converted them into gold so that I could buy the Preserved Queen Bee from the trading post because I liked the look that it provided.
I waited until after Wintersday to see if the issue would be resolved but it has not been, so I submitted a ticket asking if I were able to get reimbursed the money I spend for gems and converted into gold for the Preserved Queen Bee.
After a lengthy discussion with GM Beast T and having to try some steps to make sure this was not an issue with my computer but their servers I have received this information:
GM Beast T:
I have just found that this is a known issue by us and is currently being worked on. I will soon be transferring you to a queue where once a fix is obtained, will be automatically applied to your account. This will fix your issue but the time of the fix has not yet been confirmed. Once the fix comes out, your Preserved Queen Bee should operate the same way as a normal Preserved Queen Bee works. I have informed my supervisor of your issue, so once the fix is available, it will be manually applied to your account. We will keep you updated on the progress of the fix and any changes we make on your account.
Unfortunately it seems that I will not be reimbursed for the gems I bought in order to acquire the Preserved Queen Bee and some questions still have not been answered.
We do not know when the issue will be fixed so players who had/have the Preserved Queen Bee may be stuck with the unwanted effects for a long time.
We do not know if Winter’s Presence will actually be fixed to include all the animations it originally came with.
I have also heard that since the issue some players are not able to sell the Preserved Queen Bee on the trading post. I have not tested this myself and do not know if this issue will be resolved as well.
I hope that this information will be helpful to other players that are going through the same issues as I am and because the forums and reddit have had no replies from ArenaNet about the issue I thought I would post what I have learned on here for everyone to see.

the perma blue mist effect above my head is really annoying. it persists even in pvp (where all those type of effects are supposed to be disabled) and even when i unequip the queen bee.

i guess I’m the only one who actually likes it.

I believe i put mine into a cheap exotic trinket and salvaged it back out again with a black lion kid (100% upgrade extraction) and it became sellable

hey all. I’ve been digging in to this issue this morning. I have a fix for the effect part submitted. Unfortunately I don’t think I can get the fix out to the live game before the next release (scheduled for 1/26). When the fix goes out the icy effect should just go away and you’ll be back to your normal (hah!) bee-covered self.

As for the account-bound status issue, that’s a little bit trickier. We’ll be trying to sort that out as well, but I don’t have a solution for it yet.

PS the work-around mentioned above worked for me, too. (Upgrade a cheap L80 trinket, e.g. Ulgoth’s Tail/Fine; salvage with BL kit.) That’s unlikely to be sufficient for everyone (nor does it address the root causes), but it does allow people to sell or trade the item.

I have queen bee and I dont have this smoke effect but if they are going to fix it atleast give queen bee gold smoke effect.

I like the smoke…just not with queen bee, which I bought (in part) because of the honey aura. I’m all in favor of seeing it in another item, preferably something that can be applied to ascended gear.
