Since the patch, we do no longer get the option to preview armor not for our profession. Please, change it back. I do not want to have to log in with different characters just to see how the armor would look like, before I choose to keep it or sell it/salvage.
If this is because people are not to get “fooled” and buy armor they can’t use, believing they can, then the red text telling them the armor is not for their profession should be message enough.

I wholeheartedly second this motion!
Please fix that, because taking away the possibility to look at what’s in your inventory, is bordering on cruel.

An incredibly weird change, and since weapons still can be previewed as before, I’m assuming this is a bug or oversight.

I agree with everyone else. if this is intentional then i don’t understand why, but a staple of mmo’s for generations is to be able to preview gear you can’t wear on your class.

What if i want to know to use my dungeon tokens for my clothie or to save it for when my leather wearer is 80? I need to be able to see how it looks.. making me need to switch characters is tedious and makes no sense since the feature was already implemented.

Yes please revert this! It’s really strange and honestly a pain. Since it wasn’t in the patch notes I assume it was broken and not a “fix.”

If it is intended, and I hope it isnt (because that would be beyond stupid), I hope they fix it soon.

I was very sad when this happened. Please let us preview all equipment again.

I also ask for the preview change to be reversed, for the same reasons others have stated: it’s nice to be able to preview armor for your other characters so you can decide whether to keep a newly obtained piece. Without this ability, you have to hold on to pieces longer in order to preview them properly. In dungeons or other instances, that’s quite annoying because of the sheer amount of loot you have to fit into your inventory. And even if you’re not stuck in an instance, it’s annoying to have to switch. Please fix it so any character can preview any armor.

I really hope this is a bug and it can be fixed soon. I’d also like to second the idea of preview being available at the TP.

Indeed, previewing all types of gear, be it weapons or armor, and especially from the Trading Post, is extremely essential to game enjoyment. I use this feature constantly, in this and all other games I play. It’s enough we can’t inspect in this game.
Please fix this bug. Thank you.

Hah, we’ve been asking for preview on the TP since release and we get…the removal of preview options.

Ridiculous, Anet, ridiculous. There’s so much to do, so much to fix, so much to implement (TP PREVIEW FOR kittenS SAKE), but you never cease to amaze me with your “priorities”.

This is horrible. Should we create this thread somewhere else, seeing as how it’s not a bug? This change has been pointless and annoying.

I searched for “Preview” in the thread with the latest patch notes, and the only “Preview” it could find was the button to preview your post. Nothing about any change in the game.

and at wiki it is listed under the heading “Guild Wars 2 Wiki Notes” (= notes by wiki itself)

so no, it’s not a official feature it could also be a bug

Please fix it, I made my 6th alt only because I saw how nice were other’s racial armor types!
It’s like going against your own “extra character slot” in the gem store keeping it this way…

It is not in the official notes here on the forum and as Yareon pointed out, the note about the Preview is note from Wiki over what’s changed. Not an official statement that it was intentional to make it so.

I’ll add my name to the list. Previews for all just makes sense for when clearing the inventory out…
