Guild Wars 2

There seems to be a problem with the story mission The Source of Orr. King Reza doesn’t appear after defeating the Eye of Zhaitan. I tried replaying this 3 times but still the same result. Can you fix this problem please.

Ok I tried this mission a fourth time and finally King Reza appears.

I’ve tried playing this mission 5 times now and every time it bugs out… Right after killing the Eye of Zhaitan, the cinematic plays with King Reza’s dialogue displayed at the bottom of the screen but no voice, and he never spawns. Can’t complete the story mission.

Same problem.

Got it after 5 attempts.

In my successful run, I made sure I killed the boss slowly, and had it die away from the fountain.

Two theories as to why:

1) NPC is tagged as enemy to you, so if you are near the fountain when the boss die, your AoE or Cleave might kill the NPC
2) You might need to damage the boss very slowly to make sure all the map triggers trigger.

I managed to get through it now too, I think it was my 5th attempt as well.

I noticed that when the story bugged out, the boss teleported to the back of the room and shot projectiles that knocked you back. This time, on the successful attempt, the boss simply teleported away for a bit, then came back to the centre.

Weird bug. Hopefully it gets fixed for those who are playing through for the first time! The Source of Orr is one of the highlights of the personal story, in my opinion.
