Problem with the Story Quest Forging the Pact
Ok so a few things. I get that you’re upset, I am too. I’m new to the game, this is my first time through so I don’t even have access to my mastery trees yet. This bug is preventing me from working on my character’s progression. That being said, coming on here and insulting the game’s employees isn’t the way to go about getting your problem fixed.
Tech support employees are trained to assume that whatever problem comes in falls into one of two categories; either user error or user equipment failure. Most situations that tech support employees have to deal with fall into these two categories, so it is a way for them to save time if they assume this first. That’s why I have reported four different times that the game has kicked me from the quest, so that I can show a trend. That being said, even if they didn’t assume that they probably can’t help with this kind of problem.
The problem with these quests is probably with their scripting. Something is going wrong with the quest causing it to eject players from the instance, causing a DC. If this is the case, the only way to fix it would be with a patch, or at the very least a hotfix. Tech support employees can’t do that, the most they can do is pass what we tell them along to the team in charge of patches and hotfixes for them to fix the problem.
Upset? you betcha. I’ve been going through this for a long time now and I like others either get no response or unhelpful ones so I don’t apologize or regret what I said. I had proven to them that this was not a packet loss or a time out error, yet they would only repeat for me to install yet another useless piece of software that scans for packet losses. And you have reported 4 different times? LOL that’s a fraction of what I have attempted through reporting.
You keep trying though…. best of luck to you on getting help or results.

I managed to beat it. As I said, I’m new to the game so I don’t know the quest you’re on. What worked for me was making sure that every enemy was dead before I went into the next phase of the quest.
It’s not any one certain quest or story line. It’s random in all of them. I’ve had 5 diconnects today. All 5 in 5 different points of the storyline. It makes it infuriating to have to go through quests over and over simply because Anet never set the game up to save on diconnect so you don’t have to start from the beginning. Every other MMO that I have ever played had that ability. If you accidentally disconnected, when you logged back on you were not back at the beginning. You were right where you left off. Anet didn’t see fit to build that into this game. I just had my 5th discon at the end of another long mission so I’m done for the day LOL. That’s all I can take today.
This IS a fantastic game. It really is. And I am glad to see it’s still growing. Over the past few years though, it’s mechanics have been failing more and more. Unfornately like all other MMO’s, they have been more interested in new content instead of stabilizing the game currently as it is first.
