Guild Wars 2

So I played last night and logged out without any hitches. uncovered all of the Plains of Ashford with my new character (not 100% just uncovered map fog), opened all my mail to collect six or seven heart rewards, opened an unid dye to great surprise of getting an Abyss dye, rearranged storage, etc and logged off – without any hitches. I log back in today to find all that progress had been wiped. I find out that some areas are still undiscovered, don’t have the Abyss that I got, and found myself in a fight upon logging in. It seems that I was reset about 10-20 minutes.

I didn’t have any perceivable lag issues. Chat was rolling fine, people were moving, I could interact with merchant and crafting tables to access my vault, and was able to harvest and mine through the last 20 minutes before I logged off.

Did a server reset and that just sometimes happens or what? I’m not really mad about losing progress (especially since it’s just a new character), but I would like to know how it happened. I am kind of miffed over the dye, but I can get over it even though I lost the potential gain of 5g right there.

Same here. I was thinking they must have had to do a roll back. I just played back through about 30-45 minutes of content I did last night. Lost a few yellows and dyes in the process ….

They already posted about it on twitter. Yes there was a roll back and no they can’t do anything about it.

i went to bed lastnight just needing kessek hills for 100% of the world. so i did it just now, and the world map says i have stuff missing, but i dont. i checked! so i just wasted over 400hrs of playtime on a toon that cant complete the world unless i do it ALL OVER AGAIN just to see what things show done but now arent? NO NO NO!
im getting so sick of this game, i have @ least an issue to deal w/ every day, and i have never ever gotten a response or any help. this is insane… is there any support in this game?
the worst part of this is that i would be fine with any of this if they just said something similar to “we are aware of your issue, and are addressing it”

Aww, man same thing happened to me but i got booted when using a way-point I loss money, karma, and progress at least 3-4 hours worth. Strange thing is, that a buddy of mine who I was in a group with had no problems.

It’s very BioWare of them to explain this only via their insultingly jokey dude on Twitter and to offer no form of recompense for an error that really screwed a lot of devoted players. They have a great game and have been generally responsive, but the plethora of progress-blocking errors and this sort of attitude is starting to wear me down.

I tend to ramble so Im keeping this as factual as possible
Leveling weaponsmithing 196 I want 200 before I sleep so I can craft new weapons next day
Go afk to get drink and snack and I come back game is threatening to kick me for inactivity
I move my character and head to the trading post to buy materials for inscriptions
I craft myself to 200 hang around a bit while I check hero menu and mentally add up what materials I need to craft my new weapons
I exit to desktop
This morning the weapons are still in my inventory and my amount of money is the same but my skill level is back to 196 and I still have the discoverys for the weapons I crafted
Granted not a huge loss but a very frustrating set back and it worries me if this sort of thing could happen again only the result would be worse?

if i keep getting no response ill have to believe that they have no intention of fixing my glitched toon and i will quit. not a huge deal, but i lead a guild that was established in gw1 and they have all said that if i quit they will also. loved this game too, its a shame.

This happened to my wife, she was disconnected (I kept playing merrily) and about 30-45 minutes later she was able to log back in (login server outage.) When she logged back in she found that a lot of progress had been lost. As parents of a little one we don’t get much free play time, so the time we do get is precious. Losing any of that to a database crash or whatever is really disheartening. The scariest part is that if this can happen once and wipe out an hour of gameplay for many people, it can probably happen for a longer expanse of time. If there is no recovery available and the time is days, weeks, months….

ok, seems to be fixxed in some way now, cause @ least now i can do the stuff that got glitched again. YAY!
