After having this happen for over 5 months, have determined that if my character is near the dragon when it dies the chest completely vanishes.

Earlier tonight had killed the Claw of Jormag on Mesmer, got both the boss chest & the bonus chest. Bonus chest is not the issue here. (Some people have a hard time recognizing that.)

Got back home a bit ago, logged onto my Ranger, and was there participating & killing during the pre-event/ice wall, shot the dragon bunches of times, then on phase two had stuck many arrows into it and the ice pillars – and a few random mobs.

Claw of Jormag’s ice barrier dropped. Many of us when in for the kill and I swapped to twin axes. Chopped up dragon. got a Gold reward. That was it. No boss chest.

Relogged, no dragon chest. relogged, cleared the NIC cache, came back, still no dragon boss chest. So unless dragon chests are one per account this bug still continues.
Also appears to be a proximity issue, as if I would if stayed back using a longbow would of probably gotten the boss chest.

This game, patch wise, reminds me of Everquest 1 when the Planes were opened. More bugs than fixes.

Yup, recent change. Complete bullocks. But okay.

Bonus chest you get one per boss, per account
Boss chest you get per boss, per character.

He clearly states it is not about the bonus chest.

Today, after reset, got on at 6:30 PM server time. Grabbed ab 80 Engineer. Helped kill the Golem MKII. Got gold reward, and no chest – not even the bonus chest.
15 daily kills, 1 interrupt, no chests on this one event.

This game is losing it. Sure, I admit the Golem MK2 was down 20% of its health when I logged in. My character used turrets, rifle, yet never died or went down. Why no chests??
