I’ll start keeping better track. My memory (which we shouldn’t rely upon) says that I’ve had long streaks of 3-5/day. 8-10 was more common. I’ll let you know what I find out.

Haven’t noticed any negative change in mine like you mentioned. But I did get charged quartz two days in a row from it this past week plus a day that rewarded 15 quartz. So it’s working better than expected on my end, at least this week.
Other than that run of good luck, mine is behaving normally.
Weird. I actually got 8 quartz crystals from the node in my home instance today, which is a day after I posted this thread. Strange coincidence.
It’s the first time in weeks I got more than 3 in a single day. To be honest, getting only 3 was actually quite rare and my average was around 4-6 a day, and often times 8 or more.

After so more investigation, here’s what I’m finding
- 3 is the default: one per swing (3 swings per [f]).
- The bonus for home quartz is 1 quartz, 1 charged quartz, 3 quartz, or 5 quartz. (maybe 2 or 4, also; just haven’t seen those since I started watching)
That’s pretty close to what I remember when it first got added. 7 days in a row with just 3 is probably rare; it doesn’t seem unlikely though.
