I really like the gloves on my mesmer, but this is just plain unacceptable …

If you wait long enough you see your character’s face morph into the “boxes” around your character’s arms ….

This is uncool, please fix asap …

Man, you’d think that at least some testing will be done on these gloves before making them available to the player-base. I would understand if it was a bug with a single skill on one profession … But this is a huge deal. No matter what build a mesmer uses, they will still use phantasms. And we have to look at this every time we “spawn” one. It looks terrible … Please Anet, please fix this as soon as possible. Make a mini patch and fix the crazy issues with both gloves on all characters. I hope it’s not too much to ask …

yes same for juggernaut effect / necro spectral walk / ghost nourishment / stealth

It`s the same graphical bug that`s hit elementalists lightning hammer for eons.

I hope the patch on the 23rd fixes things … Stealth I don’t mind that much, but phantasms … Instead of overwriting the textures, why don’t they simply put the gloves on them. As in not make them pink and see-through, but just put the gloves on them. That way we won’t have the weird face boxes on our hands at least.
Yes it will look weird to see a pink ghostly figure with metal plated gloves that glow, but I would much prefer that than the boxes …

Any thoughts?

Another thought:

I am not a programmer and I have no clue about how this should be done, but surely they can make a “code” (or whatever I have no clue about technicalities) that would turn the radiant glove texture to a pink ghostly version (on the phantasm) when a Mesmer has them equipped. Just instead of white emitting light, have it pink and the metal is as easy as the rest of the armor in you actual Mesmer.
Don’t know how long it would take, but I presume it can be done within a week or two. Don’t know how much resources and personnel it would take, but again people buy a ton of gems to support the game, so I see no problem with them “fixing” it.
I mean how hard can it be?

This same thing happens with the fractal back piece when stealthed.

This has always been the case with skills that turn you translucent, and armour with particle effects. I first experienced this when using the Molten Gauntlets with a Necromancer’s Spectral Walk skill.

The easy and cleanest way to fix this would to be just disable particle effects when the character is turned translucent, there’s already enough particle effects with those skills that they’d just obscure the armour particle effects anyways.

Ok good its not just me! It looks so ugly. I hope this is being fixed…. cause then doing all the work to get these armor pieces is pointless.

Can a developer look into this for the next patch? It sorta looks ridiculous, although been looking at is for some time now… my own face…

It’s an outline of the “fog” polygons that have a combination of transparent and visible pixels which create the fog or particle. The only way I can think of to fix it is to remove that particle effect when stealthed or cloned.

Yes, it’s very ugly.
