Since 3-6 months ago give or take the phantasms of my mesmer and other players’ mesmers got weird graphical squares through them. Before I never had these problems while using the same system. I also had a similar problem on my dad’s laptop.

The problem only appears when the phantasms have their ghostly form/glow.

When I’m in Lions Arch since the latest culling changes, my phantasms are shown in lower quality, which takes away their ghostly glow and by that, takes away the bug/squares.

I also notices similar squares with some of the effects from the box of fun.

System:
Intel i7-2600k 3,40GHz
8 GB Ram
64-bit OS (Win7)
Graphicscard: ASUS EAH6950 (Radeon)

Summarized:
- Weird squares or rectangles through mesmer phantasms, but only when they have their ghostly glow
- Similar squares through some other effects, like a few box of fun effects
- The problem wasn’t there from the start, while using the same computer. The problem started maybe 3-6 months ago give or take.
- I had the same problem on another computer (laptop)

Today I paid attention to the looks of the phantasms of other mesmers, and they appear without blocks to me. So it’s only my phantasms.

And what’s even weirder, the other mesmer told me on his/her screen my phantasms appeared with squares/blocks in it as well.

So this problem might be character related and not graphiccard related.

Discovered the source of the problem:

The Radiant Vambraces gloves skin causes the problem.

- When I wore the radiant gloves my phantasms were bugged
- When I wore the radiant gloves, but turned the gloves visibility off, the phantasms appeared normal.
- Same as when i wore other gloves, then the phantasms appeared normal

I even tried summoning a phantasm with the radiant gloves on, then in the same fight I turned the visibility of the gloves off, and then I summoned another phantasm. Result: one bugged phantasm, one normal.
