Hi All,

Upgraded my GPU to a lovely GTX 970- turned up the GFX now getting some random crashs mainly at TEQ or 3HD WURM when fighting in the zerg.
(On 64-bit OS with plenty of memory)

Same for me.

I have been in contact with ANET but what I am learning is that because the game is coded 32bit, it cannot utilize more that 3.5-4 gig in ram.

Since the game is so CPU heavy, having your graphic setting too high will cause Out of Memory errors.

Hopefully this id being addressed somehow, I just built a new rig and cannot play my favorite game in its best graphic settings…… sad :’(

This is not the issue, the issue is, if they have the setting we should be able to run them…

Plain and Simple and yet they do not offer reasonable solutions except

“run a repair”
“Check graphic Drivers”
“Lower settings”

First 2 I understand, the last one should never be an answer for machines that can handle it.

Been crashing every time I go into a moderately sized zerg forever now. Best way to fix it seems to be “lower settings” but I swear there are people with worse computers than me don’t seem to have this issue. (Also, it looks like crap, and my comp can run pretty decently on good graphics for anything that’s not a group event)

Also, I got my computer in 2012 I think… I don’t think it’s the CPU.

I really feel that for me, this is a Mac beta issue. It’s been happening more and more over the last year – Very disheartening.

Same, and only been happening roughly for the past month or so. Been playing since launch so pretty much know when something odd is happening!

Deactivate High-Res Character Textures and set Character Model Limit to Lowest.
If it still crashes you could also restart the client before such an event.

The thing is, its still a 32-Bit client that can only handle 4 GB of memory, and since
there is also some reserved for system usage and then there is memory fragmentation
normally at around 3,5 GB is the point when the programm crashes with an
OOM (out of memory) error.

So mostly setting amount if characters to medium already helps.

In the beginng we had a solution that was called “culling” but people complained
that it has hidden to much characters and even monsters, and now we have the
problem that some people with all maxed simply reach the limits and must
manually tone down their settings.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
